I had to replace one of my broken casters because I set down my chair to hard on the floor and it broke- so I ordered this set. These are really strong construction, I'm sure I won't have that issue again with the cheap ones my chair came with. These roll easily across the floor and look nice.I was lucky enough to be selected to receive this product at a discount in exchange for my own honest, unbiased review. I give my honest thoughts out in order to help others make their purchasing decisions. I only give out 5 star reviews on products I believe are worth people's hard earned money. I chose these casters for the price and the images. From the images the metal supports looked solid and well made. The casters I received were exactly that. I replaced some older tandem wheeled casters that were no longer rolling well with these and I could not be happier. My office is a very short industrial carpet and the wheels are great, but I suspect that would work well over any surface.

Love that the movement on my chair improved so much, that was an unexpected plus. I've been using these for a week and the floor is intact, no scratches. I was going to get a mat to protect the floors but this is much better. It also adds height to the chair which is great for me but something to be aware of. Easy to install and looks great.

When I first put these on my desk chair, WOW! what a difference. Really loved the lack of noise while moving back and forth between desks. However, I would have to say that these are more suited for a desk chair that won't be used 8-10 hours a day. I am well within the weight limitations listed, yet the metal portion of the casters are beginning to lean on 2 of the 5 making it difficult for the wheels to swivel correctly. It's jerky and awkward to try and get the wheels to co-operate and go in the right direction. Didn't dream that these were going to be an 18 month product, and I'm hooked (I shudder at the thought of the hard, noisy plastic wheels now), so I'll definitely be getting more, just not this brand. It's another set of 5, as well, since they don't sell single replacements.Update: AXL contacted me immediately and are providing replacements, free of charge. Their quick response and the willingness to stand behind their product leads me to believe that the 2 defective wheels are an anomaly, and not reflective of the products true quality. The wheels roll smoothly and are very quiet. I did not, however, take into consideration the additional height of the wheels which makes the chair nearly unusable with my current desk. I have ordered some that are only two inches to replace these. Like the wheels, just not the extra height.

Amazing wheels for chairs that are on hardwood floors! We bought an office chair months ago and removed the plastic wheels which scratch wood floors. We put felt pads where the wheels were and under the center post. Most chairs don't work well like this because that center post is slightly lower than the outer pads and the chair teeters.We looked into getting a mat but those are ugly.This product is genius. They fit directly into most office chairs, the roller-blade like wheels don't mark up the floor (Brazilian Cherry), and are super smooth in rolling and turning direction.We're going to buy another set for another office chair!

High quality, but really not ideal for carpet. If one of the wheels is "backwards," it won't turn correctly, making the chair impossible to roll until you take your weight off the chair, move it so the wheels are in the correct alignment, and then you can roll. Another problem is that the wheels are thin, so they make "divets" in the carpet. These are permanent, but they do make it very difficult to roll -- think of a hole in the mud with a car tire stuck in it, not able to get traction to make it out of the hole and onto the surrounding flat surfaces.Overall, a decent looking product, and probably good for hardwood floors. But if you're trying to use this on carpet, you're better off to find another solution.

So far I've got two sets of these on office chairs for homeschooling kids. They leave zero marks on the wood floor and support the full weight of an adult without flexing. You can roll the chair up onto carpet or a rug without it trying to tip and they are super, super quiet another needed thing for homeschooling kids.Well worth the money. I would say that you need to make sure that the length of the stud its right for your chair, else because of the offset, the torque could blow out your chair. Not a down side, just a note to be careful of.
