Q: why do they always put twice the amount of Watts when you only buy 1 unit? this unit only gives you 500 Watts am i correct?

Q: We find the record feature unpredictable. can record with lots of time to punch random buttons but no set of strokes reliably work to record - why?

I can't answer the question about recording. The unit I purchased had a built-in FM radio - which has never worked! There was a lack of decent documentation on how all the features were supposed to work, and Pyle's customer support is a joke! Fortunately, the unit works well enough for the basic purpose of a PA system with the wireless mics, and has plenty of volume for both the indoor and outdoor venues I have used it at.

Q: can you play karaoke music from like,youtube on this pyle 1235 wmu ??

Hi, yes you can play music from youtube when this speaker is connected via Bluetooth. Please note that the unit needs an active Bluetooth device like a Smartphone, tablet, iPad, iPhone, laptop, and etc. Thank you.
