Scientific Anglers Mastery Series Freshwater Floating Fly Line - Headstart

I recently took up the sport of fly fishing and worked for about a year with a cheap line before switching to Headstart, which is advertised for use by anglers like myself. I found the performance differences to be quite gratifying. The weight-forward feature added several feet to my cast and made casting on windy days much easier. The line also floats much better than my earlier model. I admit I haven't been able to detect some of the line's finer bells and whistles (e.g., the "bump" that's supposed to let me know when to cast), but I haven't found this to be a significant issue. I would recommend that the manufacturer put loops on both ends of the line -- not for the obvious time-saving reason on the leader end but to obviate the need to mess with nail knots to join backing to line. The purist who prefers the nail knot can simply snip off the loop. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this product and look forward to further testing it.
