Does what it says exactly on the tin, easy to set up and good to go from the get go

I'm putting together a network in a parish hall - where a couple of POE cameras are going to be connected, along with a POE VOIP phone system. Having 8 ports available as POE has been very useful, and although we haven't needed to make any amendments - there are options to prioritise POE ports if needed. A decent bit of kit with easy to see/read LED indicators. And it works.

Listed as "9 Gibabit ports|65W 8xPoE+" however this is a NOT a gigabit switch - all ports are limited to 100Mbps.

Bought this to power an IP camera, and gradually added others, and it has worked perfectly so far. Literally - plug one LAN cable from this unit to your router, and another cable (from one of the 4 POE ports) to your camera, switch it on, and that's it. It starts working immediately with no setup required, and for me at least, has never dropped a connection.I am hoping that it will happily power more cameras should I get any more. Recommended.UPDATE 5th November 2013Has been on virtually continuously since purchase and still no issues. Have not connected multiple cameras to it yet, but has powered a different camera happily. Never drops connection.UPDATE 26th October 2019Has now been switched on continuously for over 6 years with no issues whatsoever.UPDATE 26th February 2020Has now been on for 7 years, and has powered up to three cameras for me at times. Still never dropped a connection.Highly recommended!

Amazing product and really good quality

It's a well made unit and it provides power over ethernet nicely for my 3 IP cameras. The only problem I've found is that it locks up regularly (approx once a week). I've solved this with a timer plug that power cycles it every day. It's not ideal but considering the price I can live with that. Overall I'm still happy

Great little PoE switch sits on the top of my desk connected to a Powerline adapter. It's always handy having close proximity wired network connections, even better when you can power small devices from it! Combined with a PoE network/microusb splitter, this does wonders of keeping my Raspberry Pi powered without the need of more plug sockets!
