Came out of the box sized properly for me (6'3")
I'm 6'3" and followed the rope length instructions only to find it was sized just right for me. I found that as a beginner, the weights made things too difficult so I removed them along with the springs. The speed rope does kind of kink and curl a bit, but it's not a show stopper and I always hang up my jump rope to let it stretch out.I do recommend wearing shoes because I kept missing my jumps and the rope would hurt my toes. If you are good at this, then it won't really be a problem. This definitely offers a great workout at a low cost, but there is a learning curve. I am just adding a multitude of exercises to my workout to prevent overworking specific areas of my body.Overall: 4/5 stars

worth the expense
This review comes from a barefoot jump roper and I have to say that catching the toes with this rope does hurt but it is nothing in comparison to solid steel ropes like the CrossRopes that can easily break a person's toe. I have found the weight for this rope to be just right and the handles and everything else are very durable because I put this rope through all types of abuse and even exposure to extreme weather elements and it has held out very well. The only negative for this is that one has to cut the ends of the rope to match a person's height and if this is done incorrectly then the jump rope will be a complete loss. I did want to mention that although the product information states that with the handle weights one can bring the total weight for this rope to 1.25 pounds, I would say that the total weight is actually a lot closer to .50 pounds, but that is just my estimate.

Quality speed jump rope, good design.
This is a nice jump rope. The weight is good (and can be lessened if so inclined by removing the handle weights). The rope comes extra long for very, very tall users. It's easy to trim down to fit, but the little metal clasp that squeezes the end of the rope (where you'll cut off the extra), is a real challenge to take off and reapply to the shortened rope. I ended up just tying a knot at the end.I jump rope on a concrete area in my backyard and "rope" is holding up nicely under repeated strikes on the ground.I don't foresee this speed rope breaking or tearing on me at any point in the near future and I've already jumped with it for over a combined 20 minutes and 2000+ jumps.

Ok jump rope, rope adjustment is a pain...
This jump rope is ok. does the job fine, but there are a few things the manufacturer could have done better:-narrower handles: the handles are too wide and thick, leading to an awkward control of the jump rope.-get rid of the metal clamp used to adjust jump rope length. it is A HUGE PAIN IN THE A** to take off and adjust. The product FAQ says that you should use a pair of "needle-nose pliers" to adjust. I do not feel like spending another $15 on a set of pliers on top of the $12 I just spent on this rope. Even with pliers, it would be very hard to take off. There is a MUCH EASIER way to adjust the rope length:1.) cut the jump rope to the desired length.2.) throw away the metal clamp pieces (keep the washer)3.) put a binder clip (find them at the office or at any store) on at the desired length.thats it, your done. dont have to worry about taking off the clamp and dealing with that bs.(see pictures)

Great Jump Rope!
Great speed rope! Iβm 5β6 and new to jumping rope for a workout. Iβve really enjoyed this speed rope. The jump rope is light weight and I caught on quickly, adding speed to my swings. It doesn't hurt too much when it hits against the back of my calves instead of actually jumping over it.I like the grip, and apparently so does my dog who took a large hunk out of one of the foam handles shortly after I received my order. Even with the dog chunk out of the handle there is enough foam that it is still comfortable to use. I am using it without the weights or spring inside, though I have tried it with the weight and itβs a heck of a workout. I would strongly suggest this rope to any beginner or advanced jumper.

Designed poorly and nearly impossible to shorten
This would be a great jump rope if it worked the way they advertise. It comes at the longest length possible and is up to you to shorten it if you require a shorter rope. You have to unscrew the handle, cut the rope to your desired length (if you mess up this step there is no going back so be careful) and then tie a knot at the end of the rope, re-attach the clamp and screw it up back inside the handle. The clamp is sent already tightly attached to the rope and you need pliers to remove it and another tool to put it back on which took me almost 30 minutes as it doesn't seem to be designed to be taken off. Then you have to tie off the rope to your desired length, but the material of the rope does not allow for a tight knot to be tied. After struggling for a while all I had was a knot that was too large to be put back in the handle. When I finally got it in, it took up too much room in the handle and didn't allow for the rope to rotate freely while in use which means it continually get's tangled and tight as I jump .I have to stop every minute or so and readjust it, which throws off my workout. I am really disappointed. This is not worth it unless you are really tall and do not need to shorten the length of the rope!

Excellent value for the money
I bought this after reading up on the benefits of jump roping as a very effective high intensity interval training method, HIIT. Uh, wow...no freaking joke! Kicked my butt & then some. & I consider myself to be in pretty good shape. Was able to do about 20 seconds before I had to stop. Ideally, you are supposed(for ideal HIIT) to go for a steady 30 seconds then rest for 30 seconds. Repeat for 30 min. Well on my way, but wow is it tough! In a really really good way tho. :-)

Make sure you have Pliers
Great rope, I love the fact that it has Bearings inside the handle for added spinning power, or whatever. The weights are heavy enough to add a slight challenge. When adjusting I've found that the way they tell you to do it (tying a knot) isn't great if you want the weights in the handle. There is a crimp on the rope that you can move around but you need at least two pairs of pliers.

Great product. I have only had the opportunity to use a handful of times so far but I love the weighted handles and like that they are removeable. Provides a good cardio workout.

Nice product
The grip is very big. You get used to it. I was used to thinner grips. I do lengthy workouts and need and smaller weight.

Lovely Quality jump rope!
Hello all, this is a really nice well made rope which I am still using after a few months, I love the way you can place the rope in boiling water so it gets it shape back after just a few minutes! the weighted handle is also great and really does work those upper are muscles after a few minutes of use! highly recommended.
