When a recipe calls for vegetable, beef or chicken stock I use one cup of water and 1 teaspoon stock base in place of each one cup of stock. It works perfectly to add extra flavor to any meal that includes a soup, gravy or creamy sauce.There is no need to keep large containers of liquid stock around anymore once you discover these. They fit nicely in the refrigerator and are available any time you need stock.I can say that my husband loves the gravy I make with the chicken base. I simply melt two tablespoons of salted butter in a small fry pan and add in two tablespoons all-purpose flour. Then I quickly whisk in one cup water and one teaspoon chicken base. Then season with a sprinkling of poultry seasoning, freshly ground Tellicherry peppercorns and a little paprika. Voila! My husband claims this is the best gravy he's ever tasted and I'd agree!I'm happy to have these again to replace any stock base I run out of. These have an expiration date out like a year so they are good for a while. Once you start using these they will be used up before the expiration date for sure! We' love these products. LESS SODIUM, easier measuring, lasts a long time. The size of the jars are great for storing in fridge. Hubby uses it when making soups & stews etc
