Q: Can this be used as a skillet lid? Can it withstand heat while cooking?

No, we do not recommend it be used in that manner as it is plastic and cannot withstand cooking heat.

Q: Will this fit the billy pot 2.5L?

No, it sits down in the bottom of the 2.5L billy and will fit the 27 fry pan and bowls for straining liquids. I use it in a pinch for the billy by holding it on the edge near the spout when straining any liquids out of the billy.

Q: For those reporting a poor fit, did anyone try another disc? I got a 27-0UL/HA set and multi-disc. The disc doesn't fit the upper windshield.

The disc isn't for the windshield, it's for the pots.

Q: Does the multi disc nest inside the 27-3 ul?

Yes it fits quite nicely in my 27-8 with the kettle. In fact it adds a bit of snugness to dampen rattling.
