Q: What is the best by date? Need to store most of these for quite a time so need long date. thanks

The Energizer batteries that are in silver foil blister packs were sold in industrial bulk quantities. These batteries were never meant for retail sale. The original boxes that held these blister packs had the manufacturing date and best if used by date. The third-party Amazon sellers just buy boxes of these batteries, take out the blister packs, and resell these blister packs on Amazon. On the back of the blister pack is a two-letter manufacturing date code that is internal to Energizer. The first letter is the manufacturing month, and the second letter is the manufacturing year. The letters for the year cycles through the word UNICARB (Energizer used to be owned by Union Carbide.). A year code of 'A' means that the manufacturing year is 2018. 'R' is 2019, 'B' is 2020, and so on. I do not know if the month codes spell out anything, but the shelf life of these CR2032 batteries is 8 years (if stored properly).

Q: Are this the batteries that go in compuer motherboards?

Unless it's a Mac. There's a cylindrical 3.6 v "1/2 AA" motherboard/clock battery Apple is quite proud of. Best Google it first.

Q: I usually only buy Duracell because for most regular batteries they last way longer. But I am not sure about CR2032 batteries. Do these last as long?

The specs sheet shows energizer capacity is just alittle more than duracell with same load test, 15kohm load until 2volts. 235ma hours vs 225.
