The amplifier is too sensitive to voltage fluctuations
GTR-7535. I bought it to install it on my 68 Mustang. I just installed it and it’s protecting itself (red light on the display) even when there is no audio as reported on a previous review. It seems that this amplifier is very sensitive to voltage variations. So maybe it’s not recommended for classic cars, unless you are sure you are not exceeding 16V at any time. It is not protecting when the car is turned off.- Update: I was able to fix it, my voltage regulator was delivering around 16.5 V for short periods of time (measured with an oscilloscope, it is hard to catch these peaks with a multimeter), so the amplifier was protecting itself, since its max operation voltage is 16V. I installed a solid state voltage regulator on my car and that fixed it for me. I used the motorcraft GR540B.

Something's inconsistent about these amps
Love my gtr-1000.1. Installed correctly, no clipping, never heats up.... Perfect! This one though... 7535... Few things (asdide from it being stuck in protect after being installed for less than a week). 200wrms to a brand new JBL 8" 4ohm from the sub channel with gains at the absolute lowest setting sounded like it was about to blow my 250rms sub up (lpf crossed over@ about 120hz). Instead bridged it on the front channel (same lpf crossed) gains again set to the lowest setting, and it sounded pretty much like it was supposed to I.e. smooth and no clipping. (Strange that the same rms wattage would have a different effect on the sub?). Voltage 12.6-14.4 and then just red light for no reason... The 1000.1 connected via 0gauge then split to 2 4gauge both power and ground. I've been installing car audio equipment for over 20 years (still have working amps from the 90s) and this is the 1st time I've experienced this. Bit disappointed. :-(

I felt like this product was outstanding
I felt like this product was outstanding. It powers my two GT5-12 from jbl and it creates a solid bass and great quality. I believe this is a great high powered amp for its worth.

I could never get good sound out of the Bluetooth part of the amp ...
Overrated in my opinion. First of all Bluetooth quit working after 3 months of use. Gain control on rear speakers never worked correctly. Keep in mind if you are going to run Bluetooth with out a head unit you will have no control over bass treble fade and balance so you are just stuck with what ever you phone or iPod can control. I could never get good sound out of the Bluetooth part of the amp and that is why I bought it. The clarifi is so so not impressed. Needless to say I should have stayed with alpine pdx series amps pretty hard to beat. I have installed many alpine amps with years of service and zero problems. It's your money spend it on something reliable.
