UPDATE: This remains the best training tool I have for my very eager to learn, and bright, but stubborn strong and incredibly fast 9 month old bully mix. He's still electronic training collar resistant when anyone or anything new enters the scene, he's not aggressive just very alert, focused, loud, and unable to be diverted. It is still just as effective as it was when I got it and thanks to this little powerhouse we are doing very very well with training.TWO CONS have been noticed but in no way change my strong recommendation nor do they effect the usefulness of this product.1) I wish I had the option to turn off the flashlight or use it without hitting the the "deter" function which is the stronger of the two sonic correction functions that my dog is very responsive to and I can tell it's not his favorite thing from the look on his face so using the feature for the light is absolutely not an option. I've needed to get my cell phone flashlight multiple times to find and pickup his poop at night and having that option to only use the light would be awesome considering it's hanging around my wrist and much more handy vs my cell phone which is always in a pocket.2) it's rechargeable via micro USB cord which is awesome the only power related thing I wish it had was some sort of battery indicator.3) this thing has taken some serious hits and drops but is still working beautifully but I wish there was either a rubber skin or a protective rubber like coating just to give it more grip and give it more protection given how rough it can be treated just naturally because I choose to keep it very handy if my pup is awake. I love this thing it's incredible!! I have an 8 month old rescue that is an incredibly smart and loving happy boy UNTIL anyone else comes around us. He totally loses his mind and is completely unable to be diverted or distracted. He is completely training collar resistant in these situations and it's been distressing for both of us. I've been at a loss for a solution and upset knowing that discontinuing exposure and socialization was definitely not the answer.Enter this gadget!!! It's totally changed everything for us, when I hit the deter button I feel a vibration I see the green LED flash as well as the bright white LED that faces the dog and is part of the correction. When given that correction he instantly stops the behavior and sits, almost confused looking, but it's definitely the one thing that stops him in his tracks. The unit is very sturdy feeling and is a quality made item, it's small and fits comfortably in my hand and with the included wrist strap I can release it when i need both hands. It uses a micro USB charging cord that we all have and are familiar with. Now the one thing I don't really understand is the second button labeled "train" and even the literature doesn't give me enough information to understand the difference and comfortably use it for anything which is fine because the feature I use is well worth 10 times the price so I don't feel like I'm missing out or got taken by not utilizing that feature.

I have had this ultrasonic dog barking deterrent device for about a week. I checked with my Vet before buying and they said it is safe. Oh my, it is solving a reactive dog problem so quickly! She wasn't listening to our "leave it" or "no bark". But boy, after just a few times of using only the training button, she is getting it! I train my dogs in obedience, dog agility, tricks, etc. but this dog was just not getting what I was trying to convey when she started barking crazily at the door, the dog next door, the vacuum robot, kids running around, etc. She escalated so quickly she didn't even hear me. We tried a bark collar but you have to have it on tight and I could see she wasn't comfortable and I didn't want to shock her. This device requires no collar. You just have to keep it handy. It is easy to turn on. It vibrates so you know it is activated. When battery is getting low, it flashes green every 5 seconds. So after a week of use, the battery is now flashing that it needs to be charged. You can even use it while it is charging! The training button is enough to get my crazy dog's attention and she stops barking immediately! Now, she is starting to listen to me when I stay "No bark". It even worked when she went into another room. I think she was more than 25 ft away. I just pointed it in the general direction and pushed the button. She immediately stopped barking and came to me. Lots of praise and treats! I have another dog but she is usually not in the vicinity when the reactive dog starts or, she is behind me. So I haven't seen her react to this at all yet. I am trying very hard to avoid her getting the noise because she is older and is so sweet that I don't want her affected negatively.I think I am going to get a second device to keep downstairs so I can have one always handy. I have used this outside and it works just as well. I have to be careful because there are neighbor dogs that I don't want to use this on. I would ask the neighbors first. I think it is wrong to do that to a dog without permission. Unless of course the dog is attacking.Sorry for such a long post. I am just really happy to finally find something that is working without hurting her or causing her distress. She really is a great dog. I will try to update after I have had this a month.

My personal experience is that the device is not much useful in controlling dogs. I tried to dissuade stray dogs from entering my compound or drive away those that have already entered. They ran away not because of the device but because I chased them.

I tried this product to train or ward off a barking dog. It did nothing to the dog or any other dog which I tried on.

It works

This unit works so well that I have just ordered a second one so that my wife and myself each have a control device. Highly recommended for training.

It doesn’t work at all. No effect on any of the dogs noticed.
