Works well, needs modification to fit a F60
This cable does exactly what it says. It lets you send your Yamaha data through NMEA2000 to your MFD. I connected with with a Garmin, and the Yamaha engine data appeared right away. You need a NMEA2k network on the boat, so this cable doesn't work without that. One installation note: On my Yamaha F60, the connector is too big to fit through the opening on the engine, and there isn't an alternative path. You either have to cut and splice or de-pin the Yamaha connector, which I did, to route the cable through. A little bit of a pain, but it works.

Works great F150 to Garmin Echomap
Was intimidating trying to figure out what was needed to get Yamaha engine info to display on a Garmin Echomap UHD 74SV. For info I have a 2017 F150 xb and analog gauges (no command link).Found a post about using the Lowrance cable and it worked perfect. Took about 10 minutes to hook it up and get it working (snaking cable through the Hull is a different story :).This cable direct connects to my 2017 F150 xb then to a nmea backbone starter kit then to the Garmin, to get trim info plug the pink jumper wires together at the engine. I have all the engine info I need displayed on the Echomap and can expand gauges or add other nmea components in the future. One thing I do not have yet is water pressure, supposedly you must add the yamaha sending unit to the engine if not equipped and that is $185.

Works as intended on Yamaha engine and Furuno MDF
I was pleasantly surprised how easy this worked with a Yamaha F225XB engine and a Furuno GP1971. I first tested it by connecting from the engine to the NMEA network without running the engine. With ignition on the Furuno showed hours. I knew it was working. The hard part was routing the cable through the boat and engine harness. I ended up depinning the yamaha connector to make it easier. I got the cable through to the engine and console. I then repinned the yamaha connector and plugged it in. Worked great.Cheaper and simpler than building a Yamaha gateway to the NMEA2000 network.
