Traditional Easter and Ramadan or for guests with Cardamon coffee - Love these cakes. They are petite in size and individually wrapped in a beautify gifted box. Its texture is cake- it is delicious. Your not buying a BIG CAKE, these are miniature Pettit servings, safety wrapped. People think expensive, but the true Mid east foods are always with pure ingredients. The quality of date is Meddijoul, minced and delicious filing. The larger box you order the better the deal and happier you will be. I recommend these products for weddings or parties since they look so beautiful.

I simply loved it! The first time I had Maamoul was in Sydney, Australia in a small Lebanese store however after getting home in Baltimore, USA I have been searching for maamoul ever since. I was delighted to find maamoul through Amazon specially the pistachio ones.I like Baklava but I prefer maamoul and these maamouls were prefect... not too sweet but sweet enough with a good amount of pistachio filling!

Dry and tasteless.
Cookies had some of the packets open and they were very dry and tasteless. Thought they were overpriced for the small quantity. Will not order these again. Very disappointed with this item.

Moist Center, Somewhat Dry Pastry, but Delicious Overall
These Lebanese pastries are traditional for Easter, but are good any time of the year! The flavor of the Hallab walnut maamoul is very similar to what I was able to enjoy for a few years from a Lebanese deli near where I was living. The pastry of these Hallab cakes is a bit drier, more crumbly, than what I have had before, but still very good. Each one comes individually packaged. The box comes wrapped in plastic, and there is a fair amount of powdered sugar loose in the box, so if powdery messes drive you nuts, be careful: leave the plastic on. I would be willing to buy these pastries again. The price paid was in line with the specialty nature of the item, and I did not feel that it was too much to pay for the quality of the item. Four stars only because I was spoiled by the deli I mentioned earlier!

DELICIOUS!!!
I read the review complaining that it is VERY expensive and I agree, BUT it is DELICIOUS!!! I think it should maybe be dropped in price a bit, but hey you only eat maamoul once a year around Easter. Why not get THE BEST even if it costs a bit extra. Try this maamoul and you'll know what I mean!

Less than expected
Found it to be less substance and more sugary. Didn't think the price I paid for it was worth it

Great for Tea
If you like Sesame cookies this is a great item. Not super sweet, just a light sweetness- great for tea. You get significant number of thin cookies in the box. Cookies came whole and not crumbled. Great for a cookie platter as well, especially when having guests over.
