The very name of the brand conveys a deep respect toward craftsmanship and considered as familiar by citizens the world-over. So as a “citizen” of the world, we bear the responsibility to help cultivate a culture of positive change and on-going evolution through our craft. We take that mission seriously and steadfastly welcome what the future may bring. As a true manufacture d’horlogerie, CITIZEN integrates a comprehensive manufacturing process from creating individual components to a watch’s final assembly. It’s an artisan’s approach to watch making based on pushing forward the boundaries of technology and leveraging our experience toward exploring new possibilities. One pivotal technological breakthrough was the development of a light-driven watch. CITIZEN pioneered this engineering innovation well ahead of other watch manufacturers as early as 1976, which led to the launch of the highly acclaimed Eco-Drive in 1995. Utilizing electrical power converted from virtually any light source, this extraordinary innovation changed forever the way watches could be powered. Eco-Drive eliminated the need to ever replace batteries, which made it especially beneficial to areas where such specialist batteries were not obtainable. This leveled the field for citizens of virtually every country to be able to experience unrestricted joy of wearing and using a CITIZEN watch. The product development policy, “The Fusion of Technology and Beauty,” remains a constant motivation for us to merge cutting-edge technology with perfection of design beauty, which as a consequence inspires people to strive to be their best at any time. CITIZEN launches a new campaign in collaboration with Wieden+Kennedy, Better Starts Now. This is the simple belief that no matter who you are or what you do, it is always possible to make something better — and now is the time to start doing it. We believe that better and now are both infinite, and that there is always a next ‘better’ and a new ‘now’ in which you can start pursuing it. It was clear from the onset of this project that we are dedicated to this ideal…not to the past but to the present, and all the way we can improve it. To help communicate this belief to the world we have created a new global CITIZEN brand movie, brand identity and brand website that represents out Better Starts Now philosophy. See more

Beautiful watch! I found problem to cheap band!
Very beautiful watch. Pics don't do it justice. Almost returned because this more than double the most expensive watch I have ever bought. (Suunto Core (pos, keeps resetting time))Sorry, went off subject, anyways this watch performs amazingly and works as intended. It only records a dive one at a time but let's say you dive 50 foot and are about to dive again a year later, it will still have your last dive saved. Pretty awesome. The only thing wrong with this watch is that for such an expensive watch it seems to have a cheap band that dries out over time due to too much contact with salt water etc. I myself have never tried to replace the band once it does break apart but I know a few people with the same watch that said it took forever for citizen to replace the band and send back. It's not complicated to do at all! So I took the liberty into making my own watch band due to there being no exact fitting bands to swap original for. I made one out of paracord. You can look on YouTube for ways to do this...that's how I learned. I've made multiple bands for my watches and it works perfectly! Also makes this watch look way more stylish. I went with a black and dark blue with a stainless shackle. Pretty clean and way stronger than a rubber band. Can use it for diving or even going out somewhere nice. It has a really nice touch to the watch. So in conclusion this watch is beautiful and to not worry about the hassel of getting a new band from citizen, make one your own if you are somewhat into paracording. The shackles I got from Amazon as well as the cord, these particular shackles were adjustable. Make a bit bigger circumference if wearing a wetsuit...

One Star
After having to change the watch I bought first, this second one stopped working after a year.

Honest Opinion for this watch.
The watch itself us quite nice. However, I do not like the rubber watch band itself. The band has one buckle and two sliding rubber band holders. These holders slide too easily on the band itself allowing the watch to pretty much unbuckle during normal use. The band is comfortable. The body of the watch is also quite heavy. If you are accustomed to a light weight watch then you will not like this one. I will need to figure out a fix for the band as I do like the looks of the watch.Also...take note ...this watch does not have a sapphire glass and will scratch eventually. This is something I forgot to check before I purchased it. Hope this helps.UPDATE FEB 13th 2016 The watch is working perfectly over a year laterPROBLEM...The rubber watch band has split at one of the holes and requires replacement.(See 3rd photo)Where to find a replacement might be difficult but I am going to try.UPDATE: March 9th 2016. I contacted Amazon via the website back in February 2016 and asked if they knew how I could get a replacement watchband for the one that failed. They emailed me back advising they would elevate the request for an answer. I never received a call or an email from them. GOOD NEWS: I purchased a 22 mm black stainless steel watch band for about $20 with next day delivery that looks pretty good. ( Hope this is of some help.)

This watch is great if your eyes are great
I have been in the market for a new watch for several weeks now, and finally decided to buy this watch. I'm not a diver but I love the look of diver's watches in general. The watch arrived packaged and documented well, and the fit and finish is excellent. I have had other solar quartz watches and have no doubt that the accuracy of this watch is excellent. But I'm still not sure I will keep it. The watch is quite handsome. My reason for considering returning the watch is purely personal and based upon my age. For years my eyes have been excellent but as I have grown older I now require readers, and herein lies the problem I have with this watch. While handsome, the face of this watch is busy and the hands are not easy to read, unless of course you don your readers. The problem is with the hands. They are not straight but have a tapered, triangular appearance rather than looking like a stick. And the minute hand is short. If the minute hand was as long as most watches have it, partially covering the hour gradient as it sweeps around the face, there would be no problem at all in reading this watch without readers. But it is short and I have to concentrate (without the readers, of course) when reading the time rather than being able to steal a quick glance, like I can with other dive watches with a cleaner, more contrasted face.If you don't have presbyopia, you're good to go with this handsome, quality watch. But if you're an older guy who can still get along without glasses but expect that you can steal glance at the watch in the airport or while driving to get the time, you'll be disappointed.

Good Luck Finding Someone To Service Or Repair Your Citizen
Almost impossible to find a reputable Citizen Authorized repair facility to service your expensive watch should something go wrong with it. The one Citizen referred me to has an unfortunate reputation for neither repairing nor returning your watch. The water sensor/depth meter tends to go eventually and the repair can be what you paid for the watch. The capacitor/battery that is rated at 'indefinite' lifespan has anything but and will fail at 5-10 years according to the Citizen authorized repair centers I contacted, and your local jewelry shop will NOT be able to do the work (at least not without destroying your watch). Your choice, but realize that watch repair/ maintenance for these watches is on the high side and will be required eventually, and in the case of the gaskets regularly (at least every 2 years at $100 or so a pop), or just forget using it in the water.

A n excellent choice
This is an exceptional dive watch-and an exceptionally handsome one. It's solidly and thoughtfully engineered. It's straightforward to operate and understand. I purchased this to replace a wonderful TAGHeuer dive watch that served me well above and underwater for close to 20 years-done in only by incompetent servicing(Never s good sign to see water behind the watch crystal). Beyond that situation, I'm comfortable saying this Citizen watch is it's equal-and for less money. I'm eager to accept it's guidance on many dives in the future. Plus it looks damned good on my wrist.

This watch is amazing...
This watch is gorgeous. Stunning craftsmanship, and style. I've never had more compliments for a watch. The rubber strap is practically indestructible, and the chronograph on the watch face is a joy every time I look at the time. A must have for the diving enthusiast, as well as for those who want a bit of style and luxury of a beautiful watch.

Defective Citizen dive watch.
The watch enters into dive mode on its own accord, 1000 meters above sea level and in no contact with water. The reset adjustment does not resolve this issue. When in dive mode, this drains the charge on gjis Eco-Drive watch. In addition, the features on ghe website state Warranty type as 'Manufacturer', ghe wstch came without warranty details or any operating manusl/instructions. The Amazon customer service informed me that the watch is covered by sn Amazon 2 year warranty and not the Manufacturers warranty that I was expecting.Return proceedings have been started and thd watch is being posted back tomorrow, shich is unfortunate as it is a good looking timepiece. I do not feel comfortable ordering a watch from Amazon again, after this experience.

Looks pretty but it's heavy.
This watch is as good as it's shown in the pictures. However, it's quite heavy and the case is thick; it might not work well for someone who wears a shirt all the time because it will interfere with the collar. The first watch that I received was defective after one day; it stopped running while the needle shows I have plenty of charge left. Although Amazon shipped me a new one right away, I still think it's a hassle to pack up the old one and ship it back. It makes me wonder if the huge sale (I got it for under $300) was for a reason.

Exactly what I was hoping for.
Great watch, stylish and heavy, but if you have a small wrist look for another. So far build and quality of the watch look and feel solid, as well as the silicone strap. As usual ordering and delivery from Amazon was flawless.
