Stable 5.05 V out for 5.2-30 V input; screw terminals; mounting holes; appears to be potted: 10/10
This will be used to power a Raspberry Pi 4B running on a 13.8 VDC battery system. I have not load tested it yet, but I varied the voltage on the input and it is stable with a VOM load. All I really need is 3-5 amps, but the screw terminals and mounting holes made this the best pick.Note to Amateur radio enthusiasts: don't buy this device. It has screw terminals and mounting holes, and it's internal components are protected by potting (I think) and a plastic cover. Poor amateur radio design. This makes it really different from most other "made for ham" products that sell for more. Really evil product for hams....

Great for stepping down 12 VDC from a mobile installation to 5VDC for a Raspberry Pi.
This unit was just what the doctor ordered. I used it for an APRS transmitter based around a Raspberry Pi for GPS tracking in my truck. This was plug and play and easily mounted. Keeps the voltage at 5 volts pretty well even when the alternator is putting out a lot of current to charge a slightly discharged battery. I hold an extra ticket in amateur radio and this was a project I set out on for tracking my mobile path using APRS and GPS technology. Couldn't have asked for a better product. It does exactly what it is advertised to do and comes in a convenient package. It's up under my dashboard with the Raspberry Pi and the rest of the interface. Performance has been rock solid.

Decent product. Works as advertied
It takes a little bit more work to put this in vs. a generic buck converter on your car, but if you desire to have a clean isolated voltage at 5V then you need a voltage regulator like this to get the job done. This will be a standard components in my car modules designs going forward, due to its price, size, and versatility.

Powers my Raspberry Pi
It has been running for a week off a 12volt supply with no problems or issues. This may not sound like anything special, but several wall power-bricks, and three different brands of buck convertors have cause the lightning bolt and once in a desktop, the low power warning message. I have five Pis running now for several years... and this clearly appears to be the best solution for powering a Pi in my car.

Easily understood...12/24v to 5v at 10A max...Works!
This is a simple product that does well so far. I do not hear any loose parts getting bounced around in the interior sections of this product. Sturdy, easy to use, and works.

Failed within minutes under less than half rated load
Unit is labeled as supporting up to 10A @ 5VDC (50 Watts). Was running a 23.5W load and unit stopped outputting 5VDC within a few minutes. Useless junk.
