Good place for all your info
I have 2 different relatives that keep bees. I've been around the process quite a bit over the last 10 years, especially the extraction and bottling. My experience with tending to the bees and hives is minimal. I'm finding this book to be a good all around companion to learning more. It covers a wide range and has plenty of photos and fun explanations.

Perfect beginner book with tons of information and pictures
Wonderful book - hard cover, with so many pictures and drawings, it reminds me of a picture book I would have had as a child - wonderful to just hold and look through - and yet is has lots of reading material and is chock full of information.I especially like the structure of first telling you about bees in general (apparently there are many more bees in the world than honey bees, most of them solitary) with some very nifty information (with instructions and oodles of pictures) of how to invite wild pollinators to your yard and offer them homes and food and protection - a section of planting for bees - and then, the second half of the book, all about getting started with keeping honey bees.No lack of information, though, seems to me like everything is covered, from getting bees to all the chores one needs to think about, even a time table for a bee keeper on what time of year one needs to look out for queens, swarming, diseases and pests, and winterizing, and how it is all done.Delightful little book that told me all I wanted to know and so much more, in a fun and entertaining format! Thank you!

Very good book on general beekeeping and associated information such as ...
Very good book on general beekeeping and associated information such as beneficial plants, integrated pest management and bee biology. It certainly isn't exhaustive. Several useful ideas about wax and honey products as well.

Wonderful read with beautiful illustrations!
Loved it! We are first time beekeepers, we just got our bees 4 days ago! We have two Warre hives and are going the more natural path. Beforehand, I wanted to read a variety of books about beekeeping to understand my options and then, make my choices that aligned to my philosophy. As an aside, we also took a beekeeping class. I purchased this book with a few others because it looked interesting and thought my husband would enjoy it mostly. I thought the illustrations would provide some interesting graphics for reference and to visualize this whole process, but it ended up being a great read! It provided a different perspective than the beekeeping books, with a center on the bees and history of the bees which is helpful to understand to know why and how bees are doing what they are doing now. It wasn't repetitive and it was a nice companion to the other books. The illustrations were beautiful! I really got much more than I expected from this book and it is just so pretty!

This book will blow your mind. Everyone should read it!
Even if you don’t know a thing about bees you should buy this book. Bees are quite possibly the most complex and fascinating of God’s creatures. This book is full of interesting facts and information about bees that will blow your mind and leave you wondering how such a tiny insect can be so amazing. Illustrations are nice and the content is incredible. Read for yourself and see!
