Its like the 12 Trials of Hercules
The trials never seem to end and get more difficult as they continue. This is book two of Alex Hawk time travel odyssey. Book one shows how he discovered this new world and its inhabitants while this story focuses on the journey to save a child kidnapped by a new adversary.Full on excitement and heart pounding quests are around every turn.As a side note... Our author Shawn Inmon apparently likes to draw as both books included his impressions of people and places. Personally my " theater of the mind " is in stark contrast to his take on what " his" world should be. But...... Its HIS book! So why not? Bottom line.....a great read!

Alex Hawk is ready to return home from Kragdon-ah. Just one chore to complete first.
Alex agreed to recover the Chosen One from the raiders that captured her. Lanten-eh and her captors were far ahead and Alex realized that this was no journey of a few days, but would take months to catch up to her! Alex chose a young warrior and a proven hunter/tracker who could also fight. He and his companions (including one huge dog-like creature that proved to be his best choice for his small band. Amazing landscape and population make up Kragdon-ah. Many adventures and scuffles keep the journey interesting. The storyline flows on, deepening and fast moving, then slowing to highlight the beauty and diversity of their pursuit across a future landscape only slightly reminiscent of America. The characters are awarded a depth and mystery as they grow closer and gather clues of their compatriots on the trail. Their interactions and emotions bring them closer to each other and to me! Their scars and aches echo in my heart as I feel their pain and angst, their interactions with the villagers they meet, negotiate or fight as the story demands. The storyteller reveals the best and worst of their lot, giving brief glimpses into the hearts and souls of the actors in this epic tragedy. Find out for yourselves. This is a great read!

lost?Or truly found?
This continuing saga of a modern human thrust into the far future is undeniably one of the most exciting action filled stories that I’ve read in years. Never a dull day from giant reptiles to evil humans this adventure is full of interesting characters who you want to know more of. The closeness of the main characters can bring laughs but also tears. Can’t wait to begin next book!

Well-written sequel to a great time travel series.
This story is another success from Shawn Inmon; it is a well-written follow-on to the first book in the series, "A Door Into Time". Like the first book in the series, this story has all the action you could ever want, but it also focuses more on character development. Shawn places the hero and his friends in one difficult situation after another and you see them evolve due to the results, both good and bad, of their decisions and how they cope with the consequences. There are many new interesting characters in this story as well, who lend another dimension to the action and the plot. Mr. Inmon's main talent is the lost art of story telling, as evidenced in his other books. He definitely does not disappoint in this book as well. The ending will leave you as shocked as the hero, since it is a good old-fashioned cliffhanger, and you'll just have to wait for the third book in the series to find out what happens to Alex and his friends. Great book, great series, great author. Highly recommend!

Even better than the first!
I thought Shawn Inmon had done a great job when he wrote the first book in this series, A Door Into Time. But he has topped himself in the follow-up book, Lost in Kragdon-ah. The action picks up right where it left off and takes the reader on a whirlwind trip that includes even more dangers than we saw before.Along the way, Alex meets new friends and new enemies. There were times I thought for sure that Shawn had written his protagonists into an unsolvable corner. But his creative mind gave the characters amazing, but believable, ways of getting out of these predicaments - but not always without consequences or repercussions. Shawn has given us wonderful characters that are easy to root for but that have flaws they need to overcome just like any person would have to.If you like time travel and action/adventure books, you're going to love Lost in Kragdon-ah. I highly recommend it.

Another thrilling story!
It took me a while to come around on the first book, but it really did just keep getting better and better as the story continued. The second book took off at a fast pace and never let up. I hope the release date for the third installment holds true, as I am anxiously waiting for it to drop. Well done, Mr. Inmon... p.s. I’m pretty sure that it was Wagner’s “Flight of the Valkyries” that was blaring from the Huey’s at the beginning of Apocalypse Now. Coincidentally, not only is that the same unit I retired from (1st Air Cavalry Brigade, hooah), but the commander of that same unit in the movie (Robert Duvall) is now my neighbor here in Northern Virginia. - Charlie don’t surf!

A great adventure
There are typos , however , I still give this a 5 star review because of the story .Alex Hawk is just home from fighting a big battle against Denta ah, and destroyed the stama or technology being used to conquer villages answer enslave the people . While he was gone, Lanta eh, the Chosen One, was kidnapped and many children and old folks were slaughtered . Gunther eh, the chieftain , holds him to the oath he made to her husband for Monda ak, his dog. With just two others and the dog he sets out to find and bring home the young girl . It is a perilous journey of thousands of miles . The simplicity of much of the peoples lives is interesting . The fact that evil is still a threat, and that technology is a threat is interesting . This is the second book in the trilogy and I recommend reading them in order . It is easier to learn and understand the culture and vocabulary .
