It's okay.
Thought that this would have more balance to it.The looking glass is top-heavy, while the handle is light and hollow. For the money, I was hoping for a better quality replica.A little disappointed.

Nice quality magnifying glass!
My son chose to buy this magnifying glass as a birthday present for my husband, as he liked how the detailed edges reminded him of runes and ancient carvings, and he said that "Papa is getting old man eyes now 'cause he can't see the small numbers on all his computer gear". My son was thrilled with it when it arrived since it looked and felt exactly as he hoped it would, and his dad was equally thrilled when he opened it, saying that it was the coolest magnifying glass he'd ever seen, also admiring the sturdy, embossed leather case. The build of it seems to be good quality - heavy and secure - and the glass was clear and magnifies exactly as my husband had been hoping. In response to some other reviews, the case smells like leather - nothing foul about it.In my hand, the handle of the magnifying glass seems a little too long and thin for the balance to feel "right" to me, but my husband says it feels fine to him and has used it several times in the few days he's now had it. Since it was a gift meant for his use and not mine, I won't downgrade my rating, but I wanted to point out my impression as well, just in case it's useful knowledge for someone out there.

This Whole 'Vintage' Thing Could Have Gone So Wrong... But It Turned Out So Very, Very Right
When a company tosses around words like 'vintage' and 'antique' in the description of a brand spanking new item, you probably have reason to reserve a bit of room for some healthy skepticism. But happily – very happily, in this case – the seller is absolutely correct that this brass magnifying glass lives up to every expectation you'd have for finding an authentically charming and weathered artefact instrument in a forgotten dusty corner of a curio store. It was meant as a present for an old-fashioned model train enthusiast who appreciates both true vintage sensibility and modern usability. The gentleman who received it loves everything about it: he reports that the glass is of great quality; that it feels quite sturdy in his hand; and that the leather pouch makes him feel like Indiana Jones when he's out to discover what's gone wrong with one of his engines, or when he's examining design detail clues of old trains in museums and rare period photographs. I don't think you can ask much more of a satisfying gift than that.

Worth Every Penney!
Wow, I wasn't expecting this to be as big as it is, and it has a nice weight to it. I have never been able to see very well and wear glasses almost all the time. I don't need my readers with this glass at all. It has a super thick glass and is very powerful, not to mention it looks and feels very nice. The case feels smoother than it looks like it will, but it too is very nice.I'm so glad I got this.

So worth buying!!!!
I was looking for a magnifying glass to take hiking and do nature journaling. I had just purchased a set of travel brushes in a leather pouch and thought they’d look adorable together and also be functional. This totally exceeds my expectations, it’s large and sturdy, definitely could be mistaken for a real antique not just a replica. The case appears weathered and is a great complement to the glass. The glass is a fully functional magnifying glass. I’m very happy with this purchase.
