Weather alert and great quality
Great little radio! And they're customer service is very helpful and polite. I purchased this radio to use at the drive-in and as a weather raidio for emergencies. It has not disappointed. The sound quality and the battery life are awesome. The other features such as the flashlight and S.O.S. alert light seem perfect for any power outages. The ability to charge this several different ways is great also. The hand crank is very easy to use not like others I've used before. Can't wait to try the solar charge up.I would recommend this little radio to anyone looking for an emergency radio or a travel radio. I purchased the yellow and it's more of a dark yellow, which I love! The radio is also very sturdy and seems like a quality product.

This is great for camping trips and power outages from severe weather
this will be great for emergencies, but also camping trips because of it it’s compact size. The many different ways to charge it could be life-saving. Because it will take a long time to charge under solar power or hand crank to get to more than 30%.. but if it is dead, and your phone is dead, you can hand crank it for five minutes and it will get your phone to turn on.

Very nice small convenient radio! Pretty lime color!
This is a pretty nice radio. The sound is good but doesn’t have the richness that a $60 radio has. But it goes pretty loud for a small radio, you can use batteries which I like, and I do like the digital screen! It’s small and light, very easy to carry around on your waist or backpack if need to. The lime color is nice and easy to find if you put it down in the darkness.

My weather radio
The radio small and perfect for my need. The lights are bright enough, volume loud enough and charging it is simple.

Affordable choice for Weather Alert radio (assuming alerts work!)
I wanted to buy the Midland - ER310 ($50 on sale) based on great reviews from The Wirecutter and CNET. However, it’s only available for $101+ from an Amazon seller (way overpriced). Look around and you can find it for $50 at other stores.I didn’t want to wait as we have bad weather in our area now and I wanted to be prepared ASAP. This radio arrived the next day for $35.* What I like:Small size; very compact and it feels solid & durable (also IPX3 waterproof). The buttons to select options/change channels feel very nice and have a satisfying click. The reading light and flashlight work well. Very nice carrying strap. Digital tuner makes it easy to select stations. Loud SOS alarm. The unit came fully charged and ready to use. The ability to power the device from standard batteries (3 AAA’s), hand crank, or AC adapter. It has a solar panel but the manual notes it’s not intended to fully charge the unit but to “keep it operational” (my interpretation of the instructions).Speaker quality isn’t too bad for such a small unit. It’s not amazing, but it will do fine for news and weather alerts. The unit will use its rechargable battery for power first, then use AAA batteries if they are installed. This is a great feature and extends the runtime of the device. Radio also has a clock so you can check the time at a glance while using the radio. Headphone jack to listen to audio privately; ability to charge a device via USB. A plastic cover for the charge/power ports, to protect from dust/dirt. And I like the green colored case! I didn’t want bright orange so this is very nice. LCD screen backlight so you could use the device easily in the dark.* What I don’t like:Solar panel isn’t as usable for charging as I would like. I have not tested it but the manual specifically states the panel is not intended to fully charge the unit. There is no ability to save radio stations to memory/presets.. would be very useful. Now I just keep a piece of paper near the unit with radio stations written down, so I know which to tune to for news/etc. The radio antenna is quite short, so some stations won’t come in as clearly (but it works OK).While the fabric strap feels nice and provides a good way to carry the unit, the strap gets in the way of the flip-up reading light. One can move the strap out of the way but it does feel like this could have been designed better.* To be determined:I have no idea yet if NOAA Weather alerts work. If there’s a weather alert the radio is supposed to sound an alarm and flash a light, so you know to turn the radio on to listen to the weather alert. I haven’t received any alerts yet, but have only had this about 6 hours. When the device is set to receive weather alerts (by default it is set to do this), when the radio is on standby (powered off) a red LED on the side of the radio flashes once every 7 seconds. This is a nice way to confirm the setting, but until I receive an alert I won’t know if that works or not. (And it’s one of the reasons why I bought it!)* SummaryA nice, compact unit that seems to work well based on what I have been able to test so far. Once I receive a weather alert I’ll know for certain this works as expected; will update review if possible when that happens. Until I can verify the device fully functions I’m rating it 3/5 stars.Provided the weather alerts work, I think this is a good unit for $35. The Midland is $15 more but may be worth the cost, if you don’t want to take a chance on a company you have never heard of before.
