I bought a sun cpf 2500 filter over a yr ago to replace a hayward filter filled with Zeo sand for koi pond filtration. I got tired of back washing so much after hayward filter got dirty very quickly after a few months. So I switched over to the cpf 2500. Worked great but after a while issues arose! Started to crack at seals, bought water proof tape but that didn't wk completely. Also, the way to clean the sponges do not wk great(turn handle)! U have to take the whole thing apart and rinse it out and the sponges. Ringing them out and rinsing them off once a mth got old quickly and a too much of a hassle!! I replaced sponges every 3mths. Also if you do not fit lid back on correctly with seal, u have to take apart and readjust it so it won't leak!! So, I watched videos on YouTube how to use hayward filters filled with k1 media as filtration and you don't have to replace the k1 media. I've only had system running for about 2wks and so far so good. I hope it works as pond businesses describe! If not, I'll go back to zeo sand before the cpf 2500. With zeo sand, I had to replace once a yr.
