Q: Would it burn the grass or is the ash contained in the bottom of the pit

I haven’t used the fire pit on the grass but after use the ash stays in the bottom and when it cool it’s easy enough to throw away.

Q: How deep is the bowl please ?

I don't have the fire pit to hand as it is packed away with the camping stuff but from memory I would say between 4-6" deep, hope this helps.
