Wilkinson M Series Alnico 5 P90 Soapbar Bridge Pickup for Les Paul/SG Electric Guitar, Black

Like most Wilkinson parts, they sounded very good and were reasonably priced. Mids and highs were a bit more forward than my Gibson's, but not unpleasantly so.I ended up using the ceramic model in the neck of the 335, and the Alnico in the bridge. The ceramic helped to add more clarity to the neck, which is a common issue with many pickups.

Love this pickup. It has a great tone and is ABSOLUTELY a true bargain!

I bought these to replace the cheap pick-ups from a Les Paul copy. I had to dig out a bigger space for them as they are quite wider than the originals. I wouldn't do it on a US made but this turned out OK. Just needs a little touch-up. The neck pick-up is crooked. But it`s a cheap guitar already so I`ve made it better a little. The sound is great but needs rewiring in the 50`s style. Looks older without the pick guard.

I routed out an old SSS Strat and put the p90 in the neck position.Overall, after some adjusting and playing, the pickup is pretty good for the price. It definitely has the classic P90 warmth, however its lacking the high end definition and brightness you'd expect from a P90. Due to this, the pickup seems a bit muddy, especially since I have it in the neck. Perhaps it would sound a bit better in the bridge. Either way, great buy for a cheap project guitar, or if you'd like to try out a P90 pickup. However, don't expect it to be as great as some of the more expensive pickups of this style.

I've had great luck with Wilkinson stuff, but this one was dead on arrival.
