Paul Mitchell Platinum Blonde Purple Shampoo: Effective Brass-Busting, But Consider Potential DrawbacksPaul Mitchell Platinum Blonde Purple Shampoo is a popular choice for neutralizing brassy tones in blonde hair. Here's a breakdown of its pros and cons to help you decide if it's the right purple shampoo for you:Pros:Effective Brass Reduction: Many users report this shampoo effectively combats brassiness and yellow tones in blonde, highlighted, or gray hair, leaving hair looking brighter and cooler-toned.Gentle Formula: The shampoo is generally considered gentle enough for regular use, unlike some harsher purple shampoos that can be drying.Color-Safe: It is formulated to be safe for color-treated hair, making it suitable for most blonde hair types.Pleasant Fragrance: Users often mention a pleasant and refreshing scent.Cons:Potential for Drying: While generally gentle, some users with dry hair experience dryness or increased frizz after using this shampoo. Deep conditioning is recommended to counteract this effect.Uneven Color Deposit: A few users report uneven color deposit, especially on hair with highlights or different blonde tones. A conditioning mask or consulting a hairstylist for application tips might help.Price: Compared to some drugstore purple shampoos, this product falls on the pricier side.Overall:Paul Mitchell Platinum Blonde Purple Shampoo is a well-regarded option for reducing brassiness and achieving cooler blonde tones. Its effectiveness, gentle formula, and pleasant fragrance are its strengths. However, the potential for drying, uneven color deposit, and higher price are noteworthy drawbacks to consider. Here are some additional points to keep in mind:Patch test before use: As with any new hair product, it's advisable to do a patch test to check for potential allergic reactions.Conditioning is key: To prevent dryness, follow up with a good quality conditioner after using this shampoo.Consider alternative application methods: Some users find applying the shampoo to wet hair, letting it sit for a shorter time, and then rinsing thoroughly helps achieve desired results without excessive drying. If you're looking for a powerful and effective purple shampoo to combat brassiness in your blonde hair, Paul Mitchell Platinum Blonde is a good option to consider.

Works for Brunettes with Blonde highlights too!!
I have dark brown hair and recently got blonde balayage. After two washes with my regular shampoo, my beautiful blonde pieces were turning yellow and orange.. I was so upset. I immediately purchased a blue shampoo and purple mask conditioner.. used several times but didn't help the colors much at all. I was getting desperate, searching for a toner but in my younger days I remember trying a toner and it turned my hair green so I went with this shampoo instead. WOW!! It worked beautifully in ONE shampoo! I let it sit 5 minutes. I am so excited to find something that works for my hair. I think we all have different results because our hair differs so much but it worked so well for me, I had to review. I hope it works as well for you :)

Great for transitioning from black to grey!
Paul Mitchell, you never disappoint. I've tried other purple shampoos like Loreal, and while they're fine and good on a budget, it's worth paying a little more for this stuff. Love it. I'm bit-by-bit getting the black color professionally stripped through partial foils from my hair on my "journey" to going grey. My natural hair was once black, but now it's pretty much all grey, and removing the dark dye that remains has produced all variations of brassy yellow. This shampoo REALLY tones down the yellow/orange streaks and brings out the white/silver tones - and also makes the remaining black hair have a really cool soft purple hue. I highly recommend this if you are transitioning from black hair like myself. I'm excited to see how it performs when I'm fully grey or salt&pepper!

Combat Brassiness
My hair stylist suggested this product since Iām going grey. I use it once a week to tame the brassiness in my blonde highlights caused by hard water, and to brighten my natural grey/white hair. It smells amazing and leaves my hair super soft. This product has made it to my favorites list. I highly recommend it!

Leaked onto everything in the box
Shampoo seems authentic - but one bottle leaked all over the box and everything in it.

My curls are back
I have silver/white hair that was having trouble holding the curl I was used to when my hair was thicker. I changed salons and was advised that the products I was using were heavy and weighted down the hair. This is the product used at my new salon and with a better cut and this shampoo and the same brand gel, my curls are back. Fragrance is mild so my usual bad reaction to strong fragranced products is not an issue.
