This starter looks exactly like the original one on my 95 chevy 1500 truck. Installation was one of the easiest I ever did. Works good. Truck runs again.Also way cheaper than the car parts store in town.

Im giving this product 5 stars because of the price alone. I was in a pinch and took a shot on this product for my 96 k1500 z71 with a 5.7. First you'll notice this unit is significantly smaller than the factory starter motor. Despite being smaller it still cranks up fine it, however it sounds more like a nissan van than a pickup truck. As far as issues I only got one bolt with the new kit but luckily the factory bolts fit perfectly for me. Also there is no sure fire way to mount the heat shield. I just snaped it on but it moves liberally. After about 55 miles its still there so i think its just secure enough to work. I will try to secure it with some wire or something at some point. I plan on revuilding my original unit and reinstalling it but so far i see no issue with this unit. Because its so much smaller im not certain how long it will last but it saved me in a pinch so if your in a similar situation you should be ok ordering this product.

Installed this starter on a 1994 Chevy 1500 5.7L V8 and works great.

Heat shield from old starter didn't match up, but I got the heat wrap in advance. Starter works great and fires my big v8 right up, good price too.

Work and fits just fine on a 1998 silverado 1500.
