Alternate methods for refining..
Worked as well as I thought it would I think a double baggie from manufacturer would secure as it was a little bit of powder outside of the bag when I opened it overall well.

No reaction to metals
I have made multiple attempts at dissolving metals with this product (some attempts were given multiple days to react). I followed the measurements precisely and even watched videos to make sure there wasn’t some hidden step I was missing and still no reaction. I have now ordered hundreds of dollars worth of lab grade distillery equipment and plan to convert into nitric acid from this but do not expect good results if any at all.

Disregard any negativity towards this product
Starts working almost instantly. Do not worry about dissolving or pulverizing beads of sodium nitrate they will dissolve on their own.I mixed a third of a cup of 33% hydrochloric acid with 2 tbs in a pyrex glass. This was a preliminary test and what I found was….With in less than 10 minutes the mixture-had already stripped the gold plate off the item I was using as a test subject. So as far as removing gold plate this item is ideal for someone not interested in making nitric acid. However even past the point of the gold plate being dissolved the mixture was still dissolving the base metal underneath. I am assuming that in perhaps a few hours it will be done. And right this is not a high powered solution to dissolving your gold, it will take some time but it will get it done, its creating nitric acid but a weak solution.Consider this. I pay $10 for 1 gallon of 33 percent hydrochloric acid. The sodium nitrate is cheap as well. I will take this mixture and deal with waiting for the reaction to finish to save the kind of money I am saving and to avoid having strong nitric acid on hand. Please though you might not see the fumes but they see there. Leave it outside in a safe protected area. Keep the solution away from your pets!!!
