As a compulsive ice chewer, I've used many different ice crushers and snow-cone makers over my life. This little unassuming blue boi is a wonderful little gadget. I've had it for about a year now, and it's shown no wear from relatively intensive use. Unlike some other models that rely on your own pressure to hold the ice as the machine grinds, this machine has a funnel system and you just need to gently press on the lid making it ideal for kids or the elderly to use.When I fill it up, it takes about a minute shred the whole thing, giving me about 3-4 cups of snow. I could easily see making a few batches quickly.

I ordered this and had it sent.. I live in the UK. When it arrived, the plug was a US plug... red flag!! I did have a plug and power converter, which I used. However, the second I tried to turn it on... all the lights in my flat went out. This thing caused such a power surge. Not suitable at all. very dangerous.

This electric snow cone maker is excellent.Ice is shaved very smoothly. I bought as a gift for my grandsons birthday.When he received he was very happy.

I had my doubts purchasing any of the lower priced snow cone/slushy makers. I figured most of them where likely to make chips instead of snow. Some of the reviews for other models confirmed this, but based on the reviews I read for this maker I decided to give it a try since people were stating that it does, in fact, make snow. The ice shavings from this snow maker are fluffy and snowy. The ice maker seems very powerful and works extremely fast. Another nice feature is that it uses regular ice cubes. Some other models force you to freeze water in their special moulds, which makes it difficult to make snow cones for more than 2 or 3 people at a time. With this unit you can just crank them out. Also, the operation couldn't be easier. Plug it in, place ice in the top, close lid, and press on top to shave ice. I will give you one piece of advice. The unit comes with a suggestion book on frozen treats you can make and indicates you can use your favorite soda to make something like an ICE-E. The problem with that is the soda melts the finely shaved ice and you just end up with diluted soda. If you are interested in a soda flavored treat, look for a syrup version.
