I've bought cheap grips before. These are probably the best grips I have for the 1911, I've gone through several.G-10 is a lot more stable than wood, and lasts many lifetimes. Like most G-10 grips, the machining on the grips provides a very tight, sharp gripping pattern. I sanded certain small sections (large gripping area and in-line with the trigger finger) down ever so slightly and now they are perfect. Dont be suprised if yours are too sharp too- after about 200-300 rounds you will notice it if you are not wearing gloves. Just polish 'em down a little bit in the key areas if they get uncomfortable and you'll be ok.The grips I got fit my Gov.1911 5" perfect and tight. Overall could not be happier, very good grips for the price. Shipping was within 5 days.

Just installed these grips on my 1911 GoldCup series 80. They fit perfect and feel nice. I have big hands so I have added an arched MSH. The pistol feels and fits very nice. These grips are very solid and I'd say they have medium coarseness so they are not rough on my hands. They look awesome. I will add a pic soon.

Very nice grips, but they had an ambi-safety cut out which I do not need.Am returning to Amazon. Thought I would give you a heads up. Tom

These VZ grips are by far some of the best that you can buy aftermarket for any 1911. They are durable, look amazing, and feel great when installed. Out of any aftermarket I have used, these are by far my favorite. These were also the #1 that I used to sell to my customers when I was actively gunsmithing.

Worth every penny! These blacked out VZ Grip Aliens are undoubtedly, and probably the BEST made 1911 grips out there! These babies are not sandpaper rough, yet it won't slip from your palms in case water is involved upon use. I have medium-large size hands and this is by far the most comfortable G10 grips available in the market today! ~ Just buy it already!!

These fit my RIA 1911 target model, and the grip texture is great. Like others have said, it's definitely a little sharp. Nothing you can't fix with just a few minutes of rubbing it down with some fine grit sand paper and wiping it clean afterwards. Go for it, you won't regret it

These are nice grips. I originally purchased the operator 2's, but I didn't like the Zebra color and had concerns about how aggressive the texture was. They may be fine for certain applications, but not to carry or shoot at the range in my opinion. The Alien grips are perfect, just the right amount of grip that wont tare up your skin if you carry, or your hands at the range.

I was very pleased at the quality of the grips upon opening the package. Attractive and clearly will improve the handling of my Colt 1911 Government Wiley Clapp. As I went to install, I noticed that the original screws had heads too large for the opening of the hole on the VZs. So, back to Amazon I went to order the $20 set of torx head screws. They looked cool, but at $5 a piece they should put themselves in. So, I try again and now notice the screws won’t grab, the bushings are too short. So...back again I’ll go to find the right sized bushings. Not only is this getting annoying and expensive, but time consuming as well! Make sure you have the right bushings and screws before ordering or it will certainly be a bigger project that you expected!
