How are these better than the simple metallic cutters that come without the plastic addition? Thank you.

I feel like maybe that solid plastic part gives it more stability, allowing it to cut through denser things, such as fruits. I have had these for a long time and have used them for fruit, cookies, and pie crust.

Where are these made?

The cutting side is metal the top part is rubber

Mine came with two green little plastic pieces. One sort of looks like a food pick, the other one is weird. Any ideas?

I don't know. Maybe the thing that looked like a good pick was to help keep the cookie dough from sticking to the inside. I didn't get a piece like that.

What are the little extra pieces?

One is a good pick the other has a flat end and is for pushing the food out of the cutter when it gets stuck inside.
