Positive Review and Good Investment
This is a good investment. My toddlers went crazy over it when it arrived. They haven't played with it as much as I thought they would, but at this point they get a lot of fun with plastic spoons & containers and stacking paper towel rolls. I am happy with it though and know they will play with it for years and it won't fall apart. It is a good investment. Two notes, it did take a long time to put it together, the blue arch especially was hard. And look at the product description for the color of playground rather than the picture.

Little Tikes Exploration
Overall, we love this toy. And it only took my husband and father about 1 1/2 to put it together securely. Our son is only 14 months old, so he's not getting the full impact of enjoyment just yet. However, he shows interest and loves to explore it as much as he is capable of now. We know that in the coming months, he will be able to do more climbing and sliding by himself. This is a great way to start rather than spending a lot more on a larger wooden play set. Enjoy!

You need nuts and bolts instead......
Questions #1-#3 I couldn't answer well because I had to refund this item. Two men (roofers!) and I couldn't put the first piece into the second piece. We had tried unsuccessfully for four hours and seven minutes. I am convinced not to buy Little Tikes "slot-and-groove" products anymore. Seeing the disappointment on my Daughter's face on her Birthday is certainly the resolve I need to stay away from this and similar products. 'Such a shame!

Not in wasp/yellow jacket territory!
We got one of these when we bought our new home. It came with the house. We love it as do my boys (4 and 16 months) but unfortunately, the wasps love it too. The bright colours attract them and the gaps left where the pieces join together are apparently considered prime real estate for wasps to build their nests. I'm allergic to bees so I am in fear whenever we go in our backyard. I do a walk-around the structure every day, but between morning and nap there have been industrious wasps and so we can't play outside till my husband comes home and gets the nest down and sprays the living daylights out of the wasps or whatever these nasty things are. We are looking into getting either a metal structure or a wooden one...something not as bright and cheerful looking and something without all those little holes.

Note for Husbands
OK, here is a review from a guy who bought this thing for his daughter and nephew, and I think I ought to just make a quick comment to those husbands out there looking at this. On a side note, the one they sent me is not nearly as colorful as the picture in Amazon.com, no hot pinks or anything like that, mostly blue, dark green and tan. Fine, but not the color explosion it appeared to be. As far as assembly - crud. Give yourself 2 hours, have a hammer or rubber mallet and you would be best off with at least two good sized friends. This thing is just hollow injection-molded plastic pieces and the parts barely fit together. You basically need to press and bend the plastic pieces into one another while forcing them together to make the thing work. That seems to be what then keeps the thing "durable". I ended up having to literally stand on and jump up and down on some of the pieces to get them to fit into one another. Even then, one or two minor parts just do not fit tightly. On a pain in the butt scale, I give it a 7.5, maybe an 8. Be warned.

Ten years later...
We bought this (actually, ours was a bigger set. It came with an extra slide, tube, and cubical) used who said it was "a couple yrs old" when we bought it nearly 7 yrs ago. It was for my then 2yr old and he STILL plays on it! We have since had two more children and they all climb on it everyday. We leave it outside year round through some very cold winters and blazing hot summers. I will say the sun faded the yellow/Orange colors but my teal and pink ones seem unaffected for the most part. My pressure washer cleans it up pretty nicely and the only other issue is a small crack from where a huge tree branch fell on it during a tornado like storm.I would say the age of interest would be 1-maybe 8-ish years because my oldest is more interested in getting a tree house with a bigger slide ;) But it serves it's purpose for water balloon, nerf wars, and hide-n-seek games.I would say it's totally worth it and with proper care, should resell nicely which will help fund the next set for when the kids are bigger. My other advice would be to box in a play area and mulch it. We had it on grass for the first two years and as with anything, it was a pain to mow around and since mine was 1/3 bigger as well, it was a bear to move alone! Not to mention a weed wacker would damage the base over time. Oh, and the grass would wear in the little cubicles from little feet. But with mulch, it keeps the whole area neat and low maintenance.
