If you are a firefighter you need this.
I keep this rope in my cargo pocket in my bunker pants, pre rigged with a rescue 8 and a carabiner. 50’ is just about perfect to get you out of a 2nd or 3rd story window. Thankfully I’ve never had to deploy it on a scene, but I have practiced with it many times, it works. Very nice rope, comparable to any other on the market. Also doubles as a tool or hose hoist. It never fails you are on the second floor or in an attic and need a hose line or a tool of some sort. I just lower one end out the window and someone outside can rig a tool up for me and I can just pull it up. Also use it as a short search line. Must have for any firefighter.

Personal escape rope
The media could not be loaded. This works well. It replaced my outdated technora rope I kept in my turnouts for thirteen years. Never had to use it in an idlh environment, but train often.

Professional Quality - Very impressed with this company
I noticed several other reviews were already posted and wondered what I could add that would help someone deciding whether to purchase this rope. But being a Vine Voice, I like to review a product I’ve received.First the safety rating of the rope. Certification- NFPA 1983 requires a technical-use life safety rope to have a melting point of not less than 400°F.Next, I looked up the company RNR = Rock N Rescue in Butler Pennsylvania. They make a huge assortment of professional rescue gear for Confined Space Rescue, Water Rescue, High Elevation Rescue as well as the training gear for the people who do this type of work every day. So this isn’t just a basic homeowner rope that might help you escape from a second story home, this is the rope a firefighter would use to rescue you or someone in a multi story building that was on fire or exit the building himself if the way in wasn’t a option on the way back out. The rope does come in multiple colors on the RNR website so it looks like a different color than the description was sent to a few customers likely based on availability.Researching this rope, I have even more confidence in the product and its ability to ensure safe exit of multiple people from a burning home or even a home invasion / domestic violence scenario.Back to the reason I chose this rope. We have a two story home and there are two guest beds in the second story. We have a huge window that allows for exit access…with an extremely long way down ….and we had purchased the typical exit ladder years ago at a lumber yard …but it has to have brackets bolted somewhere and we never did that. So this rope can be tied off to anything …even 25 - 30 ft away from the window ( where in my home there is a 400 lb tool box loaded plus the weight of the tools) after tying off that will still leave us with 20 ft to go from the second story to the first…which is about 13’. My plan long term is to bolt an anchor point to studs near the window - possibly even with a cabinet door to camouflage the anchor point.Another benefit, unlike the ladder I purchased over 10 years ago and will do nothing to help me until I bolt it down, is that this rope will work today based on solid places to tie off and it will work with more planning in a more concealed fashion. I am thrilled to have access to such a high quality product made for a professional. If I’ve helped you understand this product, please give me a helpful vote. Thank you.

Very High Quality Rope
What can I say??? It is rope, sure, but it is certified rope that can be used for safety related duty and it will perform as it intended. There is rope out there that will probably work but when it comes to your life, don't take chances, use rope that is intended for the purpose. So, many products will fit neatly into various categories of value, quality, etc., but with something like this the quality is inherently there due to the nature of the product. This rope has kept me safe when I had ascend the Siberian Crabapple in my backyard. This species is the tallest of the crabapples and the one I have is over 60 ft in height. It is also susceptible to partial die off of various limbs and even half of the trunk has passed on. Anyway, I needed to clear away as much of the dead as I could because of carpenter ants. They only chew through dead wood but they make that dead wood very weak so it had to be removed. I used this rope as my safety rope, it has just the right amount of stretch for the job. It worked well in that role and I tested it out at height of 7 feet just to be sure. I am happy that I went this route. My Rating System:5-Stars - A Superior Product or Above Average & An Excellent Value - I would recommend.4-Stars - Above Average OR Excellent Value – A great choice.3-Stars - Average – What one might generally expect.2-Stars - Below Average Product OR Poor Quality Control – Maybe seek an alternative.1-Stars - Avoid if at all possible.

(Info in review you might need) No dry treatment or sewn eye? Limited rappel options-Still excellent
Info at the end for anyone confused about this ropeExcellent quality, similar to Oplux. I didn't expect it to not have a sewn eye? It's only 50 feet which is enough but a little length is given up when tying a knot for a caribiner in order to attach it to a hook or object. Not a big deal unless my intention was to keep it pouched and ready to deploy for strictly fire/escape. I would probably recommend this only for someone who plans to use it differently than how it was designed to be used in the kit. If you want to have the sewn eye with the lightning hook attached, I checked and they offer it like that with the same length for ~$50 more. That's not a bad deal! Also not a big deal but suprising is no dry coating? Being a rope that would normally be exposed often to water, I guess dry coating is not a concern because fire/rescue usually buy rope by the pallet load every season or every other season. I'm just a regular guy so having the dry coating to make it last as long as possible is more my concern/want. Maybe for fire/rescue, dry coating might not be wanted for some reason? I don't know enough about dry coating. It might interact with fire or storage in a way that isn't wantedIdkBeing 8 mil I don't have a device for rappel that will handle a rope this small. I could buy the f4 or fcx which I think is designed for rope like this but I just use a carabiner and munter hitch and that works fine for me. I use this rope strictly for rapel with a retrievable friction saver around a fixed object. For me, its excellent and winds up nicely onto my harness. Very pleased with it. The 4 stars is because it doesn't have a sewn eye. Some extra info just in case anyone is confused about this rope and usesThis rope is designed mainly for firefighters. It stays attached onto the body in a quick deploy kit. It's primarily for getting out of a building when a suprise/unexpected indoor flash fire happens. It needs to comes out of a pounch quicky with a universal hook(Lightning hook and some others) for attaching to misc objects and a rappel device that is already affixed onto the rope(f4 or fcx). Get the person out of harm, from a building quickly. That's what its for.If you want to have the same ability as a firefighter, you will probably be wanting to buy a kit and not just a single rope. But even with a kit, firefighters have a fire suit that they attach onto. The kits don't include harnesses of any sort. You will need to take that into account. This rope is very similar in construction as tactical escape/rappel rope, hunting saddle escape/rappel rope. This rope in general has higher fire and heat resistance. That is where this rope shines. The other ropes will have usually a little higher abrasion resistance, which is usually more desired for those types of uses. If you're interested in that type of rope with similar dimensions ~8mm, you will probably be wanting something like Oplux. You can get that rope also from this brand.
