Narex500 Gram 18 oz Beech Wood Carving Mallet 825110

I like everything about this mallet. The thing I like the most about the mallet is it's weight. Striking a 1/2" mortice chisel moves the chisel into the wood with ease. A heavier mallet mean fewer strikes. The handle fits comfortably in my hand.

Since this hammer arrived, I have discarded my other my other wooden mallets. I really like the feel, balance and weight of this mallet. Whether I am lightly tap a mortise joint together or setting tight joints this mallet has worked great.

Buy it and be surprised at the weight.

I wanted a wooden mallet for instances where I wanted to pound on sometime and not leave metal marks from a carpenter's hammer or ball pein hammer. This wooden mallet is well made with a good balanced feel. I like the wide striking surface as that distributes the force of a blow over a wider area so as to be less likely to leave a mark on materials including wood.

It’s built too heavy so less force and more impact. I’ve already used it about 50 times. Never Mars wood and is well built.

Could have been a little heavier, hence 4 stars, but I knew the weight going in.

I have used it and it seems very good for helping to chisel my woodworking projects

I own narex chisels and thought I would try this mallet. Very well made and should last a very long time.
