better than I expected
I chose to buy american and am not at all disappointed. I use this at the top of the stairs and it dehumidifies and cools our whole victorian brick house!! my husband was skeptical but now he is a believer in my plan.

Good portible unit
Works really well and cools the roomdown significantly more than I expected it to, even on dry mode. Only issue was because I got this used, the window slider was cracked fromthe hole to the edge and no foam piece came with it but it still works great. The crack doesn't even let much air out because the window holds the crack down in place. Only issue is that my window is so small (read narrow) that I couldn't use the other part of the slider because it would've blocked the vent hole and so I had to cut a little piece of foam insulation to put next to the slider piece. Annoying that you have to drain it every so often but that's standard of all portable air conditioner units. Really does cool down way more than I thought it would.

Great product
I recently purchased the Whirlpool 8000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner and I am highly satisfied with its performance. This air conditioner is suitable for cooling rooms up to 350 square feet, and it has proven to be effective in keeping my space comfortably cool during hot summer days. One of the standout features of this portable air conditioner is its cooling power. The 8000 BTU rating ensures that it can quickly and efficiently cool down the room, providing relief from high temperatures. Even in larger rooms close to the maximum recommended size, the air conditioner manages to maintain a comfortable temperature. The remote control adds convenience to the overall user experience. It allows me to adjust the settings and control the air conditioner from across the room, without having to get up and manually operate the unit. The remote is easy to use and has all the necessary functions, including temperature control, fan speed adjustment, and mode selection.I appreciate the portability of this air conditioner. It comes with built-in wheels and a handle, making it easy to move from one room to another. This feature is particularly useful for those who want the flexibility to cool different areas of their home without the need for multiple units. The air conditioner operates quietly, allowing me to enjoy a peaceful environment even when it's running. The noise level is low, which is beneficial for activities such as sleeping or working in a quiet setting. The installation process is straightforward and doesn't require any complex setup. The included window kit and exhaust hose are easy to assemble and install, ensuring a proper and secure fit in the window. The instructions provided are clear and helpful, making the installation hassle-free.Overall, the Whirlpool 8000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner is a reliable and efficient cooling solution for rooms up to 350 square feet. Its cooling power, remote control functionality, portability, quiet operation, and easy installation make it a great choice for those seeking effective and convenient cooling during the summer months.

Really loud. Cools good.
I used a decibel measurer app on my iphone. This thing rocks a 60 db noise level constantly. Not really the 54 level advertised. It cools ok but the noise is unbearable. Probably sending this back.

Does a great job cooling down our living room! Remote is nice
I'm really quite impressed with the quality of this air conditioner unit. I've become a HUGE fan of the portable units, as it frees up the window and is easy to get in and out. I love it. Add to it the fact that one time I misunderstood what my husband said and our window unit fell from the second story window..... you can imagine why I'm a big fan of these! It's easy for two people to carry with the handles on the sides. It's SUPER easy to install for a single person. My husband installed while I was at work one day. The fit is much tighter than with our window unit, and I won't be awake for an entire night because I hear a squeaking in the dark in my bedroom (yes, this happened and thankfully the bat went back outside the way it came in by morning!). No more bugs all over the place in the summer. I probably won't go back to a window unit again and will gradually change all of them over. We run four small units in our old farm house. This is by far the nicest one. I've only used as a fan and an air conditioner, as I don't have easy access to a floor drain. During the summer it would do a great job as a dehumidifier if we were able to get it off the floor to have it drain into a bucket. But for now, it's working GREAT as an air conditioner and fan. It keeps the room a nice and even temperature and looks great, also.Would absolutely order again!!! I love this item.
