The Best Soil for Houseplants - Worth Every Penny!
Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil has completely changed the way I care for my plants! I use it as part of my homemade aroid mix, or mixed with a little more perlite for my moisture loving houseplants, and my plants have never been healthier. The texture is light and airy, yet packed with nutrients, making it perfect for strong root growth and lush, vibrant foliage. I find it holds moisture well without getting compacted, which is essential for all of my aroids that need good drainage. One of the biggest reasons I stick with this soil is that I no longer buy soil from big-box stores like Home Depot or Lowe’s. Their soil is almost always full of fungus gnats, which can be a nightmare to deal with when you're using it for houseplants. With Fox Farm Ocean Forest, I’ve never had that issue—it’s always high quality and pest-free.This soil is fantastic whether you use it on its own or mix it with other amendments for a custom blend. If you want healthy, thriving plants i highly recommend this soil!

Pricey for a reason
THE best soil I have ever used in my years of plant parenting. I’ve strayed away trying to find more affordable brands, but none had the quality that this bag of magic has. My plants are always the happiest with this soil, and I don’t get the annoying hydrophobic dirt for much longer usage than other soil. Has a decent amount of perlite to remain aerated. The soil is quite moist though, and I’ve had a couple surprise white fungi pop up in my soil storage bin; but nothing crazy. Just a sign of healthy dirt anyway!

Great for seed starting
Cannot say enough about how much I love this soil. I’ve always used it for my houseplants with great success, but this year I’m starting my garden seeds with it and it has worked its magic again! Will never waste my time with another brand of soil because I know foxfarm is such a quality product.

The best potting soil ever
This is a favorite of cannabis growers. But don't let that put you off. It's wonderful soil and recommended by several houseplant experts, like "The Aroid Wiki".It does well for seed starting, depending on the plant. Micro greens for example love the stuff. I plant micro greens seeds in it with no amendments and they love it.I use it as the base for all my custom potting mixes. Plants seem to love it. It's really dense and heavy so most houseplants need a bunch of extra drainage and aeration. For example in an aroid mix only a little bit is used. But it's got great nutrients in it and great moisture retention. For my houseplant use a bag goes a long way.You can get it a lot cheaper if you live near a good indoor garden store but with shipping, this is a decent price.

Bugs
Great dirt, just full of bugs. Not ideal for indoor use.

Love this stuff, Although I enhance it just a bit
Love this stuff, keep ordering more. Wish it weren’t so expensive but I suppose you get what you pay for and I want premium to root my cuttings . The only thing I do to this is add some vermiculite. Probably doesn’t need it but vermiculite helps retain nutrients as well as adds aeration thus making it superior! As you can tell my cutting love my mix! I even add a large amount mixed with the soil when I move these guys to their permanent homes since Florida soils are mostly sand and nutrient deficient!
