I can stream again!
I have been waiting months for this to come out. I can FINALLY stream with my 1440p monitor without having to rely on OBS software trickery to get it to work. I can just clone my display to this and it works! My setup:GeForce 1080 |--DisplayPort--> Acer Predator XB271HU G-Sync 1440p monitor|--HDMI Port--> Magewell Pro Capture HDMI 4K Plus on a second PCThough it is a little pricey, but so is my setup so I don't mind as long as I can stream once again!

amazing w/vMix
amazing card with amazing results , however i tried capturing PS4pro videos @ 4k but it seems to be locked @ 30hz and stutters a lothowever there's no guide on how to run things properly like how to get the sound right and the whole video codecs when trying to record a 4k video from a 4k stream which doesn't allow any higher than 30hzedit: the newer capture express allows 4k/60fps capture however using vMix is the best way to take advantage of this card , you need capture express 1st then just use vMixthe hissing sound is annoying sometimes

Works, but software provided is not good, too much compression even at "lossless", audio missing
This card is essentially the same chip as used in the Elgato 4K60 Pro except the Magewell Pro 4K doesn't have pass-thru out (not a big deal since I have a 4K60 HDMI 2.0 splitter) and the Magewell costs 2X more than the Elgato 4K60 Pro.The card does work, but the software that comes with it (the same 4K software interface used in the Elgato) is very basic and the KEY is there is NO Hardware accelerated capture when you switch to 4K. It's also critical that you get the color modes/tech setup correctly to match your HDMI 2.0 4K output. Some of the problems I ran into is the audio would not write correctly and/or be missing ... as a result the MP4 file would NOT imported into Adobe PP or other video editing suits.Another significant issue is the quality of recordings, I tried every possible option and I could NOT get lossless quality. Even when using RGB full or YCrCb 444 color space, I was still getting heavy compression at it's "best" possible setting. The compression became VERY noticeable in darker footage and gradients.I tried several 3rd party "supported" products (some more expensive than the card itself) and in all cases the output was NOT up to par and I was never able to capture anything as good as the source footage.Disappointed, but sadly there doesn't appear to be ANYONE in the HDMI 2.0 4K capture market that has a capture card with hardware level support for 4K, they all fallback to software when using 4K. I guess this is just the state of the industry? Do other options exist?

Great at the price point, but the fan keeps it from being amazing
Solid card all around, especially at this price point. I've not had any video quality issues since I started using it a few months ago.Reason for 4 stars: the fan. It's very loud and always on. This is a bit frustrating when I'm using the card in a small room with audio recording equipment (a bit of extra acoustic foam around the computer helped). It's definitely noticable. I wish they would have used a better bearing/blades on the fan to keep noise to a minimum.

The fan on this device is too loud to use in my recording studio.
I paid extra to get the HDMI loop out that an Eglato HD60s does not provide. But after purchase and installation it is obvious that this device has a serious flaw. The fan on this device is too loud to use in my recording studio. If you are sensitive about ambient sound, I do not recommend purchasing this device.
