An American Renaissance: Beaux-Arts Architecture in New York City

An excellent New York Beaux-Arts book
This was a fantastic book, all the way through. The writing is excellent: just enough of the story to entice you, just enough of the architectural element to prevent the read from bogging down. The photography is incredible. I couldn't be happier with this book. It is quite heavy, be prepared lol.

Fabulous Book
It's like your own guided tour of some of America's most beautiful buildings. Spectacular photography, informed commentary in a flaulessly printed oversize volume.

Exception book in every way
As someone who own more books than perhaps we should (a good percentage of them architectural "coffee table" books), it is very easy to say this is one of the most beautiful and well written books we own. Photographs are stunning, many are full pages that are breathtaking. The text is very informative and so engaging it's a reason to linger with each photograph a little longer. This book is quite large and for that we're grateful, makes the wonderful images of architectural details and larger spaces just that much easier to get lost in. Thank you Mr. Dodd and Mr Wallen for this stand out treasure in our, and anyone's, library.

Beautiful book. Worth every oenny
This large coffee table size book features numerous beautiful New York architectural gems from the turn of the century including the University Club, the Gould Library, the Morgan Library, several banks, Grant’s Tomb and even the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. The photography is superb and the text is informative and thoroughly researched. The book is a must for anyone who loves architecture and the beauty of Gilded Age in New York.
