Very quiet, and honestly fantastic
I needed a blender, and I was concerned about how loud my previous Ninja blender was. I didn’t want to be too loud in my apartment and was worried about annoying my neighbors. But I didn’t want to sacrifice on the performance. I read lots of reviews and metrics about some of the better-known high-end blenders, and even considered making my own acrylic sound shield for a Vitamix. Eventually I decided I was being kind of crazy and that I didn’t need a $500 blender. Because of the great review, and very quiet noise tests, on the Rtings site, I decided to go with this one. It works great, has enough capacity for what I need, and is significantly quieter than I expected it to be. Don’t get me wrong, all blenders are pretty loud and this is no exception. But I was very surprised how effective the noise cover was. This is a great option if you need a medium-sized blender and you’re concerned about noise level. If that’s you, definitely give this one some consideration.

Finally something pretty QUIET!
We will see how it does in the long run* but so far so good. Unlike some Vitamix and Blendtec my wife has had this one does not need earmuffs and moving the dog to another room (I am not kidding about that). No it is not whisper quiet-she's blending frozen blueberries etc after all-but the level and spectrum of the noise is bearable. Also it is not crazy tall like some other noise shielded blenders. The blending itself she seems quite happy with.*I went with Hamilton Beach since they are an actual USA company in business a long time, hence some hope of repairs in or out of warranty, and of getting parts if needed. So many funny brands on Amazon may make fine units, but when you need something, forget it.

Blessedly quiet for a blender.
The hubby loves to make these gag worthy smoothies every morning consisting of avocado, kale, chard, spinach, and..... orange juice. Yep. Gagged just a little in the back of my throat there. But I digress. Normally, said green bit o' nasty is blended in a Ninja that I am positive was loud enough to wake the dead, as well as me, the wife who never, ever seems to be allowed to sleep. Ever.Is the blender silent? Oh heck no. But the shield that goes over the mixer container and blade makes one heck of a difference. I can barely hear it in the second story bedroom and our kitchen is almost directly below it with an large air vent that transfers sound like an amplifier. As far as functionality, the blender does an amazing job according to the hubby. It has a smoothie setting that automatically does the blending for you freeing you up to go on with your morning routine. It also has a clean setting as well. Double bonus.Another thing I think is great, is that there are metal parts where other blenders, like the Ninja, are made of plastic. Nice durable machine. Plus, it really does make "snow" for your frozen adult bevvies. Winner winner chicken dinner riiiiiiight here!!!

Leaking Blender Jar
I love how quiet this is and it makes a smoothie great, but I have only had this since 6/28/22, it does get used daily but still the jar should not be leaking already, it leaks around the blade attachment at the bottom. I went to the Hamilton Beach website and the Jar is out of stock. So, I now have a blender that if I use makes a mess, very frustrating. I had a nutribullet that after 5 years of use finally wore out and the only reason we didn't buy it again is because it was way too loud.8/22/22 UPDATED REVIEW, I DECREASED THIS TO A 1 STAR SINCE THE ENTIRE BLADE SECTION IS NOW LOOSE AND WOBBLES SO NOW I CAN'T USE THIS BLENDER AT ALL. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!!

good blender, quiet is relative
This is quieter than most cheap blenders and most high power blenders.I measured it around 89-90 db which is loud but is better than many.Without the cover it measured around 95db.I replaced an old Breville which worked for many years and was relatively quiet (quieter than my old cheap blender)This seems faster and more powerful than the Breville.I downrated it a bit because it is really not Super Quiet and because the jar is large, lacks a handle, and would be hard for small hands. I am 6' with long fingers and can lift he jar with one hand, my wife needs two hands. After a few weeks of use it feels sturdy and reliable, the smoothie program works very well, the larger knob makes it easy to select function or speed, the buttons are actual molded buttons and should last longer than the membrane switches on many blenders.

LOVE THIS BLENDER
I got this blender for my new apartment and compared to most blenders this one is considerably quieter and personally I think the noise shield does help a lot as well. To reduce noise even more I have it sitting on top of a foam pad and when turned on a lower setting it’s barely noticeable. It has a ton of setting options and a dial so you can fine tune how fast/loud it blends.I can’t vouch too much for the blending power as I mainly use fresh fruits for my smoothies and throw in a couple frozen chunks just for consistency, but it handles the job very well! It’s very easy to clean I just squirt some dish detergent in it and some warm water and let it blend on a lower setting for 30 seconds to a minute and it cleans out majority of whatever’s left inside.Overall I’m very very pleased with this blender it is well worth the price and after using it multiple times I’m still shocked with how quiet it is.
