It took me forever to decide on this wand as I really loved my ancient conair clamp style one but when that one died I took the plunge.First the bad: I hate the controls on this. I’m constantly changing the temp accidentally just by holding the wand. It handily has a lock button but in exactly the spot my hand will hit it. That said it’s easy enough to fix and the wand gets very hot which I appreciate.It’s a little tricky to use if you’re not familiar with this style wand. The glove is heat resistant not heat proof - so you still have to be careful. Also the glove catches on my hair sometimes and re-frizzes it but the alternative is pain so …It makes really nice curls. I appreciate that since there is no clamp there is no weird line where the curling stopped - very natural ringlets or waves. The only thing about no clamp is if you like the curl to go solidly to the very end it’s a bit tricky to get that without burning yourself.I also found I could use my clamp iron on my shorter bob but with this one I really had to wait til my hair was well below my chin. In case you’re a short haired person on the fence. Maybe you’re more coordinated than me, totally possible.Overall this is a good addition to my styling toolset. I still like having other tools for things like more flippy curls but this is a great one that heats up quick and with even just a few well placed curls can dress up your look quickly.
