Exactly what I needed at an awesome cost.
This item has been discontinued by APC so there isn't much help on the setup. I later learned you need to update the firmware before you connect it to your power sources or you could do damage to the network card. The firmware that came with it seems to work fine so I am not worried about that at the moment. I got this switch before I researched about it. I kept thinking something was wrong with it until I found that the voltage from both sources need to be really close for it to operate correctly. Luckily I can control the input voltage on my UPS so I solved that problem really quickly. I can switch between A or B with no problems now. If you have used switches before and don't need a lot of power, this is perfect. If you haven't used one before, take the time to research them before you get them. There is no documentation with this particular one. They still have the documentation online but it's geared towards people that already have a working knowledge of switches. You really don't want to learn from trial and error on these. One error and a lot can go wrong. I found that when communicating with the network card, it's easiest to hook it into your network and accessing it that way. Use the IP config found on the APC website, write down the MAC address it provides, then use the command prompt and arp command to assign it your own ip address. I had problems with connecting it through a modem even though I tried everything they said to try. On the APC website they say to use their interface cord. That may have been my problem. Once I taught myself how to use and program the switch, it worked like a dream. For the price, it can't be beat.

So far so good. Makes my Cisco switches have redundant power
So far so good. Makes my Cisco switches have redundant power. It will also provide a way to replace batteries on the backup units without shutting down any part of the network. Great product at a great price and shipped fast.

So far so good
I first bought one of these units in October, which has been running w/o any issues since, even lasted through several power events in the data center. I now purchased another one and will be buying 2 more. I looked at similar products from Tripplite but decided against them as their reliability wasn't to my expectation (one of the reviewers commented that it went out after a couple of weeks of use). I have several single power source devices and this does the trick, wish they had one with slightly higher load as well as outlet facing amp meter (or any amp meter) other than the web frontend. Would be nice and in my opinion the only thing that caused me to give it 4 stars and not 5.

Power for all Devices!
Love this device allows a device with single power supply to be covered by dual electrical connections!

Used in datacenter, good for single power supply devices
Simple, easy to setup, and manage remotely. It would be nice to control the individual outlets on as you can on their Network Management Cards (e.g. remote power on/off) for those devices that are stubborn. But the remote notification works with SMS and email.

Great Product, Fast Shipping
This is a great product offered by APC. We use it on our systems that do not have redundant power supplies. It, in essence, replaces that need.
