Solid record bad, built well, great price
This bag is built very well. The front pockets are especially handy, as is the rear panel/pouch that allows you to adhere it to a carry-on bag. The shoulder strap is great too. Not waterproof, but pretty water-resistant. I don't think you can really beat this bag for the price.**EDIT**I wanted to come back and edit my review almost a year after buying this bag, after I learned a little more about record bags in this class and after I used my Magma bag more. I'll start by saying I really still love this bag. However, my friend recently bought the Shure MRB bag, and I think it might beat this one. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002H0KZ6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=39HDT386Z0MLQ&coliid=I1TLFDJKIQUV9VThe Shure bag is only $40, holds 10 more LPs than this Magma, and also has backpack straps to carry it on your back. I'm not sure how water-resistant it is, as the Magma 40 II is definitely water-resistant (not water proof). Also, I don't think it has the strap on back to use it on a carry-on luggage bag like the Magma. Still, a great bag that is worth some research before you make a decision on which bag to buy.Maybe the thing I dislike the most about my Magma is that it doesn't really stand up on its own. I don't really understand why. The base just is not large enough I suppose, so it always falls over, usually backwards. It might not do it if I completely pack it full with records, and even then it is definitely not sturdy -- it will wobble when digging through it. And sometimes I only want to carry 20 or 30 records with me to a friend's house. So if I do that, I know it will fall over on it's own, so I have to lean it up against something when digging for LPs. Not a big deal, but it would just be nice if it would stand up on its own like most record bags. For more formal dj gigs with this bag, I try to bring a couple of cheap plastic milk crates (usually the ones from Target). I take my records out of the bag and organize them for the gig behind or under the dj booth. Digging through the crates is much easier and quicker than digging through this bag. Also, the front picket will barely fit headphones, contrary to what the photo shows. It depends on what you have. My Sennheiser HD 25-IIs will barely fit; it's a high squeeze. I usually throw those in my backpack. In the front pocket I usually carry needles (Shure Whitelabels in their individual metal cases) and a small, basic record dust cleaner. Maybe a Tascam recorder and a couple of cables as well.I have also decided that I will probably upgrade soon to the Magma 65 Trolley bag. Unfortunately, I think I will have to order it from Juno in the UK for $180. It's not cheap, but I know it will fit a lot more records and it will get me through a 2-hour dj gig (or longer), and I know it is TSA carry-on approved for most airlines. Not to mention I can roll it behind me. But I plan on keeping my 40 II bag to use on top of the trolley if/when I want to carry more records -- this will allow me to bring 105 records to a gig, and I can roll it all there. I already tried this with my friend's Magma 65 trolley and it worked great. It also shows this in one of the photos for this product. For that reason, I think this 40 II bag is very flexible and can work in a lot of different situations. In summary: the Magma 40 II bag is quite versatile and durable. The water-resistance and ability to throw it on top of a carry-on roller luggage bag are key features that you should consider when buying a small record bag. However, it has a low capacity and I'm not sure I would count on only this bag for anything more than a 90-minute dj set. Use this bag for short dj sets and just carrying records around town for informal situations. For professionals, you will want to look into a larger bag --probably either a trolley or one that stands up on its own without falling over.

Quality record bag
This is a great bag. I disagree with the other reviewer about this bag not standing up on its own, it wobbles a little but you really have to push it for it fall over. Mine certainly doesn't fall over on its own whether empty or full. I've used it to go record shopping out of town and for a couple gigs for short sets and it's great. Super well made and for the price I expected a nice bag. I did consider the Shure bag but I read in reviews and heard from people who have it that the backpack straps are uncomfortable. Also I'm not a huge fan of the giant white shure branding on it. This bag has a barely readable Magma logo in red on black and is very unobtrusive. I also like that the sides have adjustable straps, when the bag is open and standing I can tuck the flaps that cover the records under the side straps for easy access to the records inside. And when it's less than full I can tighten the straps so the records don't move around in the bag. It's definitely a stretch to fit headphones in the front pocket, but I'll be pairing this with a trolley bag that will hold everything else and this has a strap to slide over the handle of a trolley bag which is really convenient. I have a turntable upstairs for listening and two downstairs for DJing and this bag is great for bringing records back and forth between my record players in addition to the other things I use it for. I'm really happy I bought this.

Does the job
I'm not a dj, but a college professor who uses lots of vinyl lp's (many not available in later formats) in teaching. To carry them from home to office and class, I used a leather satchel tall enough to fit a dozen or so, but those were very expensive and available only in specialty luggage shops (can't find them online now). So this bag works well, and holds enough records for one trip. Just started using it, so can't comment on durability over time, but seems sturdy enough.

Loved it!
Great bag! Exactly what I was looking for. Perfect size, not too bulky and not too small. Very good quality, sturdy material, waterproof. Lots of room and pockets for all the items a dj may need. The red inside of the bag is a nice stylish touch.

Excellent Product!
I rated it w/5 stars because it is a very well build bag, I packed it with 37 LP's and they stay well protected due to thereasonably padded interior and when I picked it up for travel, it looks and feels that even the weight of all the records, is well distributed all over the base of the bag.
