Great pressure cooker! Just like an instant pot but way less expensive!
This electric pressure cooker wonderfully! So far I've made a roast stew, broccoli beef and a pull apart pork roast. These are dishes I would normally cook in the slow cooker that would take 6-8 hours. In this great little pot under the pressure cooking function, They took from 40 min. to an hour. It would be even quicker but you have to wait for the pressure to build before the timing starts. The best feature of this pot is the saute feature. Before you start pressure cooking, you can use this setting to saute your onions, garlic, brown the meat which all means way more flavor and no other pans or dishes (who wants to wash extra pans!) need to be used. You can also turn it back to saute after to add thickeners like flour and cornstarch, then bring back to a boil.I was very nervous about using a pressure cooker. I grew up with my mom using one. And I remember that big metal thing on top, shaking and making such a racket! Then one exploded food all over a relatives house! I was terrified of them always waiting for them to explode! Well no more! This pot has a ton of safety features that make it safe. It is quite while cooking. The first time I quick released the pressure the steam came pouring out and for a minute those fears from childhood came back. But I quickly realized it was fine and now I am using the pot like a pro! It is fast, easy, convenient and has so many features! It is a slow, cooker, ricer, steamer, saute pan, pressure cooker, egg boiler, roaster and you can even bake cakes (in a separate pan)! The one thing I wish I would have done is gotten the bigger 8 quart. We are a family of 4 but i like leftovers and cook alot of roasts.. I often have to cut them to fit. I thought the 8 quart would be way to big but then Id have more options. The amount of liquid you put in is not much different for the two sizes. You can also use this pot for any instant pot recipe. Just hit manual, low, medium or high pressure and set the time.I rated this 5 stars because it is half the cost of an instant pot and does pretty much the exact same things. The only thing this one doesn't do is yogurt but not something I wanted anyway! I prefer the manual settings rather than the programs anyway. This is definitely a wonderful machine and always lots of yums and thank you after you are done! Everyone likes some appreciation when they cook. Ive spent hours cooking and not gotten a hint of thanks but everything Ive made with is pot has gotten me lots of great response from my family and it is so much easier and I get to watch TV while it cooks!

Life changing kitchen appliance
I love using this electric pressure cooker! I have my own chickens and peeling hard cooked eggs has always been a challenge. Not anymore - they cook up just right and the shells come off cleanly now that I'm using the pressure cooker. I can set this up with our dinner and trust that it won't be burned or dried out if we have an emergency in the barnyard - the food stays cooked just-right and hot with the keep warm feature. The inner pot is heavy-duty stainless steel and cleans up very easily - I do use a pan spray on it when cooking up roasts, chicken, ribs, etc. I have been able to give away my rice cooker (which takes up about the same amount of space) because the Midea makes rice even better than the rice cooker did and has many more features. I can also use it as a slow cooker, though I have not tried that feature yet.The only down side is that the manual is very poorly translated into English. For that I would give my rating as 4 1/2 stars. I recently bought https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/1623156122/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 which is an excellent companion to the Midea pressure cooker, as it has manual settings for cooking the recipes. Also be sure to do Google searches for other methods of using the pressure cooker.I now save chicken and beef bones in the freezer and when I have enough of each, I make bone broth. So much easier than having to cook it on the stovetop for days!

The instructions were poorly written and minimal at best. I still don't know how to set the timer. No recipes. I limped along and cooked a very good meal tonight, but needed to do research in other places in order to figure out how to do it. As I said, the meal was good, but the time it took to figure it out (minimally), was not worth it. I would not buy this product again.

I like the stainless pot and feels very strong
It's our first upgrade to our old rice cooker. This is a pressure cooker, so it's different and you need precaution for safety. Anyways, unlike the old rice cooker, you can just open the lid after it's done and get the rice. This however, needs pressure to be release, and first time, it's hot! Learn my lesson. This is way nicer looking and goes well with my stainless appliances. I'll be using this for now on and few notes is it does needs maintenance, unlike the old rice cooker. I like the stainless pot and feels very strong. It doesn't cook the rice faster, but did came out well. Old way is we use our hand to measure the water, this one, you have to be more precise. I hope the silicon last, since we do cook rice daily. That's the part that might need replacement. You have to remember, the old rice cooker was over 20 years old with daily use, and still works great. I hope this does the same, but I do like the option to cook other things besides rice. I tried corn on the cob and then broccoli. Corn was perfect with little water, but the broccoli was mushy. I set it at vegetable setting and that's too long. I'll try again. Just like everyone says, instruction is not well informative. I use instant pot recipe on the corn and that works. I'll try the broccoli again. Anyways, it's well made but lacking a good manual. You do need to search the web for recipes and use instant pot as a guideline. A big plus for me is the pot made out of stainless steel and not non stick.

This isn't the pressure cooker you're looking for
Don't buy it. It's very hard to use and I regret buying it now. I probably should have bought an Instant Pot or a Power Pressure Cooker, they seem to be easy to use if you go by the reviews. PS I work in a technical field and am very analytical, so I normally don't have any problems with appliances once I read the directions. The user manual is hard to understand and only partially explains the menu presets. It should tell what pressure and how many minutes each menu preset will result in. It does not explain the buttons above the menu presets. I need more control than this pressure cooker gives me. Maybe I will like it better if I only use the Manual option.Plus it went on sale 6 weeks after I bought it @ $89. Bummer.
