VIAMEDEX Ancestral Genetic Test - DNA Test

Was less than I expected. I thought there would be more information. The collection/instruction package was not very informative.

I was hesitant to purchase because there were no ratings yet but I'm glad I purchased. I recieved the ancestral DNA kit around the 13th of November and got my results back in less than two weeks. The turn around time is excellent. The lab emailed me when they recieved my specimen and emailed me when results were ready. I highly recommend viamedex ancestral kit. Affordable and I am so excited to start researching my ancestral heritage and lineage. Thank you!

I ordered this for my mother. We know from family tradition and doing the family tree that she is approximately half German and half Irish. Yet, when we did the Viaguard DNA test it showed that she was 80% English/Irish with no German. We were skeptical about these results and did the Ancestry DNA test and lo and behold her test showed she was 36% Irish and 33% Germanic which agreed with what we knew about our family. Viaguard was the biggest rip off ever. You are better off spending your money with another company. We were very pleased with the Ancestry test and how they posted the results online.

The test came quickly and was easy to use. It seemed to take forever to get my results, but it really was only 2 weeks from the time that they received my sample. The test basically confirmed what we thought we knew about our family's origins. I was a little disappointed that there were no surprises lurking in my family tree. I had hoped to find out that somewhere in the bloodline I had ancestors from some exotic region of the world. But no such luck - I'm German through and through. My ancestors didn't stray from their little region of Europe for several hundred years. If you are curious about your ethnicity, this is a very inexpensive, easy way to find out more information about your origins.

It took over a month and multiple calls and emails before I got results. Still don't have access to site, just % nationalities with no further explanation. Was going to have my Aunt and daughter do one, but will find another agency to run the DNA samples. Sorry Ancestry was really looking forward to this and was disappointed.

This DNA is not accurate. We sent samples for my boyfriend who is mixed Afro Cuban and Chinese and his results were completely innacurate. No african or Chinese at all on the %. His son had the test done by another company and it shows his Chinese and African %.Mine came back % Eurpean -Northwestern European. My grandmother is mixed with the native Indians from Puerto Rico. I don't believe these results are current.I demand a refund.

I compared results to what I already knew to be true and was astonished by how precise it was. It also didn't take any longer than any other DNA test to get results. The difference between this one an the others is ONLY price. I would use an recommend this one over all others. If you come up with one on your health for a reasonable price I would get that one also.

I took this because I wanted a second opinion after taking one of the so called "big three" ancestry tests and being somewhat dissapointed. I really did not know what to expect, but lo and behold, the results seemed more accurate for me from what I know of my ancestry.I do wish they were displayed in a more exciting format but the accuracy mattered most to me,
