Canon PIXMA MX490 Wireless Office All-in-One Printer/Copier/Scanner/Fax Machine

Only the power cord to plug in. Printer app installs painlessly. Loading updates and setup instructions that followed were pretty easy.

I originally bought this printer from a retail store, as it came highly recommended from a technie friend. It worked GREAT for many years. When it died, I had leftover cartridges, so bought the same model from Amazon. It lasted less than a year. I tried all the maintenance steps, new ink cartridges, etc. Dead. Bought a THIRD one from Amazon in February 2024. It lasted less than 4 months. I tried all the maintenance steps, new ink cartridge, etc. It will print a test sheet with the COLORS, but the black section is blank. I've deep cleaned the nozzles, replaced ink cartridges, etc. Nothing. I am SO irritated by this. Makes me wonder if Amazon is selling defective or restored printers at full, new retail price. ANGRY!

Alright, I waited to write a review because... Well have you owned a printer?But this thing is a workhorse. Haven't had any jams or ink malfunctions. It connects with my tablet, phone and pc flawlessly. The scanner settings are great, I was able to pick up pencil writing and thin paper notes quite well. I'd recommend this cheap little printer to anyone looking for an all in one.

I'm having difficulty getting the wireless feature to hook up to my laptops. When using the copy feed feature, the papers you are copying feed in crooked. But for $40 it's a bargain.

Purchased to print from phone and laptop wirelessly. Not totally intuitive but works reasonably well. The envelope position took a bit of trial and error.

This is my second time around with this same Model, in the last 4 years. Love the ease of use, and dependability. Some refil- ink cartridges are rejected, be careful. Hard working machine for the price. Love it!

So far Canon yet again was the right choice. It looks more difficult than it is. The printer is being used right now in my home office. It took less than 30 minutes to set-up. I did not use the CD but opted to go online and download the software. Working beautifully.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!!!!! This seller "John's Bargins" ripped me off with a $135.00 re-stocking fee!!!! Printer didn't work and was showing error codes from the time I connected it. Then had the nerve to try and "walk" me thru getting it to work. I have used Canon printers for years and never had a issue! I fully expected to have some kind of re-stocking fee ($50.00 ???)when I returned it but not half of what I paid for the printer that was "older" new stock!!! I am retired and live on a fixed income so the "fee" was outrageous!!I have registered a complaint with Amazon and I highly recommend to beware of this seller. This is the first time i have run into this kind of issue all the years I have purchased from Amazon! BEWARE!!!!
