Sperry Men's Authentic Original 2-Eye Boat Shoe

Update 9/28I have been walking about a mile every day for a month on dirt trails and pebbly sand roads with daily abuse; no wear. I did apply shoe glue on the gap on around the bottom of the shoe... I am not sure if that makes a difference. I have not been kind to these shoes.Since I mostly only wear mocasins, I find these outside mocasins extremely cofortable. I like them.My guess is if the front of your shoe, that sticks out a bit, gets caught under anything; the shoe toe will fail.I have another "sale pair of Boat shoes. I have not worn them "yet" just to see if how the shoe fails.I am surpriesed that Sperry does not reply to the shoe failures seeing that they all have the same problem and most all 1/2 feedbacks have pictures.Getting a refund on these shoes would be impossible. However, several 2023 reviews show, with pictures, the soles coming apart within a month,I carefully inspected them. They look perfect and feel comfortable. So I will wait. I have shoe glues to fix them if they do start showing signs of falling apart. Hopefully this is an isolated problem. I will add to this review if the shoe develops problem.

Comfortable to wear without socks. The insole and outsole are firm but flexible and supportive. I am glad I bought 2 pairs

I won't be able to give a fully detailed review because I just picked this shoe up about two hours ago. This will be more of a first impressions review.I've wanted to get Sperrys for a while now because a huge percentage of my friends have them, I just never got around to it. This weekend I was waiting in the shoe section for someone so I tried on some Sperrys. I liked the way they looked, so I decided to go ahead and order some a few days ago.I debated for two days between the Sahara and Oatmeal color. I ended up getting the Sahara, and I could not be more pleased with the color. I was hesitant about getting it because of the Amazon picture, which is misleading. In the picture the color looks like a reddish dark brown, but in reality they are a more tan version of the Oatmeal, or a light brown, which is exactly the color I wanted.I also ordered them a half size below my usual shoe size because that was the overwhelming suggestion in what I had heard about Sperrys. People said they stretch out when you break them in, so it is recommended to get them in a smaller size than your usual size. After I got them, I tried them on and walked around for a bit and they were pretty comfortable. They will need some breaking in, but for day one they were pretty good. Also, I was pleased with how they look because I was wearing some stupid looking pants today for a Halloween prank and even on those the shoes looked pretty good so they must look nice when worn with normal pants.The best part about these shoes is that you can wear them with pretty much anything and they will look nice. I have seen my friends wearing them with jeans or khakis and they look good. They are casual enough that you can slip them on with some jeans or shorts, but not so casual that you can't wear them khakis. My friends also wear them with khakis and they look good on those too.Overall, these shoes look good and from what I can tell, they are comfortable so far. As for whether they are worth the price tag (usually around $80 I think, mine were $75), that just varies from person to person. In my case I had a bunch of Amazon money from gift cards I've gotten, so it wasn't a big deal. Also, I really like the way they look so in my opinion my purchase was worth it. For a pair of shoes $80 is fairly expensive, so I cannot give a definite yes or no answer as to whether or not they are worth it. If you are looking for comfortable shoes that can go with many different types of clothing, definitely consider these shoes.

I loved the look but my roomie wasn't crazy about the color. It's a rich color and I would recommend. Bought another pair for my brother in this color.

Got these for my Dad to replace an older pair of the exact same style. He loves them.

Shoe quality was good very easy to put on, got my moneys worth.

Ordered the brown color shade and Sperrys shipped a different darker brown shade. Ok fine, I'll deal with it. The front part of the shoe broke apart after two weeks of normal wear. Asked for replacement of the exact same shoe and they once again shipped an entirely different color shade than I asked for and did not match the picture. These also broke apart only two weeks of normal wear. Horrible Sperry's shoes here. The older versions were better.These new Sperry's are designed very badly. If you walk in them too much, they will break apart guaranteed. I do not recommend and I will never buy Sperry's from Amazon again.
