great gift for kids
purchased for my grandson on his 10th birthday. He loves to carry it. Flashlight works where expanded or compressed. Good for camping and hide and go seek in the dark.

Great little lantern!
The lampshade appears to be of a brittle sort of plastic I'm not sure will hold up over time, but otherwise, this little lantern is great! Plenty of light, options, and runtime! Compact and fairly easy for even my arthritic hands to operate. Charges quickly too! I'll probably buy another one!

Cute little thing
You know what, I just got this thing a few days ago, and already the company and amazon are wanting a review.. I think they wanted the review before I even got the product, but, that seems to be the trend these days... All you have to do is look at a product, and they want a review!!!!!! So, lets cut the chase... I have now played with this little light here at home for a few nights, discharging and recharging several times to get the internal battery limbered up and trying to get it SEASONED for full range of power use. Overall impression is pretty darn good, but, like always, the inventers stop inventing before they get to the finish line.. So, what did they screw up this time... First is the internal battery, it should have been bigger!!! It is okay, but, does not last very long.. I use it at the picnic table, and it works through dinner, etc. but, becomes pretty weak soon thereafter.... Is this a deal breaker? NO. But, it could be better!!! Next is the way the top and bottom click together.. I thought I was going to break it trying to get it open!!! It required the power of a bull to get the top to separate from the bottom!!!!! MERCY... Little pressure tabs on the sides could have resolved this!!! Time will tell as to how long all this ripping apart the top and bottom will last!!! Primitive at best.. Is this a deal breaker? NO, but, could have been a lot better!!! Then, there is the handle!!! It is one of the fold over to the side types.. Kind of a cleaver thing to do, but, the bums who designed the handle, left the edges sharp!!! How much booze do you have to drink to overlook this small issue... Drinking booze and smoking weed, should not be allowed while designing real outdoor gear.. Save that for the foofoo crap people put in their house!!!! But, is the handle a deal breaker? NO.... So, with all these issues, why a five star???? Because if it stays just the way it is, it should provide a good source of light in a small package for q good long time... I do like the squish design!!! I do like that when squished, it serves as a decent little flash light.. I am thinking this was designed for kids to use to play in the back yard at night, but, if it has durability, it will be a good thing to have in the tool box for real campers!!! As for the solar part, I have no idea!!! I have to charge it fast, so I go direct to the micro usb connection.... So, yes, five stars, for trying to do the right thing... Now, they can go back, to the drawing board and finish what they started! Would I recommend it??? Sure!!! It is a risk issue of course, but all the other lights I have, have been risks as well... Even the famous LUCI lights fall apart.. I have two of them.. Nice, but just the other day, one of the straps just broke loose from the lantern!!!! Of course, the warranty is already gone, so, I patched it up with some gorilla tape.. probably wont last long in the sun, but, what is one to do!!!! So much of the stuff on the market is just junk, but, you hope you get a little use out of them before they go into the landfill.

Great bug out item.
I have this light as part of my bug out bag. Brightness is great for out in the woods or hiking and the lantern feature is nice, especially when relaxing at night. Great versatility and addition .

Works as described.
Works like described. Bright light, quick charging, but it could have been a usb-c instead of a micro usb cable. Can be a flashlight when collapsed or camp light when expanded.

Worked even after being in storage for a long while
Well, I had my first blackout in a couple of years last night and got to test this out and was very pleased. For a small item it was enough to make my rather large living room navigable. It has 3 brightness levels with white and soft white light, then a setting for red light and then a flashing red light. Took it into the bathroom - perfect. The light is easy on the eyes and even though I got it over a year ago, it was still fully charged.
