good for 2-3 year olds
If you are looking for something that a toddler can play with minimal adult help, this is for you. The games are quite simple, but for the very young only. older children... say 4 and up will get bored somewhat easily because there is no challenge for them... this game has competition free games like coloring and dress up and they can be played in a 1 - 5 minute span so short attention spans aren't a big issue either!

My 3 year old daughter can play this by herself!!!
It is difficult to find a game that a 3 year old can play without the assistance of a parent, but this one works great for my 3 year old daughter. She needs very little direction from me. After a couple times playing she can find games on her own and play them without asking for directions. It only entertains her for short intervals, but that is true for most this. I definitely recommend this game for parents of young children. A great starter game!!!

Doesn't get as much play as I thought it would ...
Doesn't get as much play as I thought it would from my 4 year old. She got her 2ds along with this game and a couple of others for Christmas. It's been okay, got her started, but she's preferred her drawing game and my little pony a bit more.

Smart Girls 2
My 3 yr old grand daughter likes this game; but the front screen is not color as it is on Smart Girls (1); I can see what the games are when I scroll over them because I can read. The Smart Girls (1) front screen shows her exactly what the games are. She likes these games once she gets to them. Knowing now, I would have not purchased Smart Girls 2; I will read more reviews of the other Smart Girls Series. I do like the fact that these games do keep the interest of 3 yr olds. She wants to play games when her older sister gets to play them. Overall though, this game is better then some of the games for younger ones.

Great buy
My 3 year old got this for xmas, she loves it. She can play it by herself after being shown the "I did it", "Next", and "Done" buttons on the side. She enjoys all 18 games and can tell from the picture on the menu what game is what. I like that she doesn't need to know how to read to be able to get the directions correct. The jewelry maker game needs jewels of a certain color and the in the direction the direction for what color is needed is not only printed, but it is in the color needed, so all she has to do is look up and see red, she knows she needs a red jewel. For the Take Home game you need a certain number of a animal to put in the house, the animal is pictured in the direction and there the number of that animal needed mixed in with other animals. She likes that she is a "big girl" and can play like her 13 year old brother, without any help from Mom. I would recommend this game for anyone struggling to find age appropraite games for younger children.

Great for preschoolers
I got this for my daughter the summer before she was going into kindergarten for a road trip. She liked the game but was done with it in about 30 minutes. When I encouraged her to play it one time, she said it was ok, but she already knew everything. I looked at the game and it seemed to be way under her level but a good game. I believe this is a great game for preschoolers but not for advanced preschoolers or kindergarteners.

Simple But Fun For The Very Young
Buy this if it is the first game your young (3 or 4 year old) child will own for their DS. It is quite simple, but fun enough to get them acclimated to a hand held game system without frustrating them. Only 4 stars because most kids will probably out grow it quickly.

It's ok
The little girl likes it but she still is not very good at it as she cannot read. I figure eventually she will use it more.
