GenUltimate Blood Glucose Test Strips 100 Count for Use with One Touch Ultra, Ultra 2 and Ultra Mini Meter, (2x50) Strips with 100 Lancets Plus 100 Alcohol Pads by Care Touch

I bought this to use with my OneTouch Ultra 2 meter, as the OneTouch strips are insanely expensive.I knew before ordering that the lancets would not fit the lancing device that comes with the Ultra 2 meter (only the OneTouch brand ones do), so I also purchased a Care Touch lancing device with this package.I'm loving the device, lancets and alcohol pads. The finger pricks are a bit harsher than the OneTouch device/lancets, but I haven't been testing long (recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes). I can see where Care Touch's would be helpful for fingers with skin thickened from more frequent/longer term testing. But for the price of these lancets as compared to OneTouch, I don't mind.The strips are where I'm disappointed. They give me wildly inaccurate readings, all very low. I'm talking the difference between a 94 with Genultimate vs. 125 with OneTouch. I was sure to recode my meter (OneTouch comes set up with a 25 for their strips, but the Genultimate strips I received are a 5), but still got extremely low readings. This is dangerous for diabetics, if they think their blood sugar is that much lower than it actually is. My physician has told me in the past that a difference of 15-20 points is significant and concerning, so I will no longer be using the Genultimate strips. I'm glad I still had some OneTouch strips to compare before I starting using Genultimate exclusively.So, these strips are going in the trash, but this purchase was not a loss for me as the lancets and alcohol pads are useful and cheaper than what I've been purchasing in the past. I will not be purchasing the strips again, but will continue to purchase Care Touch's lancets.

This product package is great if you use the OneTouch Ultra system. You receive everything you need for testing at a uncompetitive price. The only thing that downside, which it isn't even a downside, is the amount of lancets you receive. We have over 400 lancets, as you receive 100 with each purchase. If you have been recently diagnosed and are looking at a system to use, I would use the OneTouch Ultra, just so you can save money on strips.

I bought these to test more often than my insurance would cover. Wary of differences between the GU strips and the One Touch Blue (OTB) I've been double testing these for a few results each day while using the GU strips for times outside of what my Dr requested when I want to know if I'm high/low based on how I feel or want to know how long it's taking if I don't like initial 1h results. Results for each strip range between +/- 0-11 mg/dL, and most results, especially those under 140 mg/dL were closer, between +/- 0-5 mg/dL of each other. All of these results are within the margin of error for the meter and are sufficient to be informative about how good dietary, sleep, and exercise choices are for a given time period.

After a few uses, the test strips appear to work very well and are economical. I hear the lancets do not work with the OneTouch Ultra Mini. However, I did not try them and really don't care, as I have enough lancets already and the price is right for the strips. The alcohol pads did not arrive with initial delivery but the seller promptly sent them when asked. Overall, I would recommend the product and the seller.

Giving this a 3 stars just because they don't ship with the alcohol pads as they advertised. Seller MUST change the description of the item, otherwise it is deceptive.The strips worked for my OneTouch Ultra Mini with no problems so far, after setting (matching) the coding (Code 04) of these strips on the Ultra Mini device. Just FYI - to set the coding, as soon as you insert a strip and the current coding is displayed, use the up/down buttons to match the proper code printed on the bottle. Need to only do this once until you get a bottle of test strips that displays a different coding.The blood sample needed for these strips requires less than the official OneTouch Ultra Mini test strips I previously used so thats a good thing I suppose.

The results using OneTouch test strips for my OneTouch Ultra 2 were all over the place. Sometimes as much as 200 points higher than the lab at the hospital and my wife's ACCU-CHECK. I tried the Genultimate strips and the results were within 4-5 points of what the hospital and my wife's ACCU-CHECK were showing.....and A LOT cheaper. 100 test strips, 100 lancets and 100 alcohol swabs for around $22. I bought a CareMark lancet device and will start using it as soon as I run out of the OneTouch lancets. I will be buying this combo from now on.

Have ordered more than once from Care Touch and will continue to order. Quality products, speedy delivery, and the price cannot be beat. My co-pay through my insurance for these same products is insane. And these are supplies that I need as much as my meds. But I'd much rather order from this company. Everything works as good or better than the name brand supplies. Care Touch has gained my confidence and my business and I will continue to order from them. You should too, you'll be glad you did
