it works. even though i read bad reviews. dont abuse it, it is not a toy

The folks at BGE hit it out of the park with this one. Have used a Loftlighter and it was a great product. The eggniter has more fan speed and seems to have a hotter element. Could not believe how much faster this one is and with the fan used to flame the coals has the fire started quickly. I used it on my Mini and it comes to temp faster than my gas grill.

Received my EGGniter August 18, 2017. It worked fine nearly all of September then I noticed the unit would cut off before I got a good fire started. Then it quit heating all together. Seems like a good idea but apparently they are just not built that good. I will not buy another.

Gotta say, this thing is pretty awesome... fires up the lump charcoal rapidly, no long waits for the parifin/sawdust combo to get things moving. I'll be saving my 'old school' starters for when the power is out.

The Eggniter is awesome, when it works. Just stick it right down there in the middle of the coals, light a few spots around, whichever works for you and in a couple minutes you have fire. I got it lit just enough to close the BGE, open the bottom and top vents, and in less than 10 minutes have coals ready to cook (or attach the egg genius and get ready for a long slow smoke).Now the problem ... I used it a total of 3 times successfully. The 4th time, 31 days after purchase, it popped and shot sparks out the sides and somehow made a gurgling noise. No more heats, funny burnt plastic spell. I requested a return and the seller approved it, but before sending it back I read the seller's policy. After 15 days there's a restocking fee, after 30 days if you send it back it will be reject and then returned to you at your own cost (after you already spent the money to package it and send it back). When I asked them to clarify if they'll accept the return, they told me to contact Amazon and get them to make them accept it.I contact BGE to ask if they could warranty it instead. BGE tells me they'll only support retailers they ship through, which does not include anything from Amazon. I respect BGE's position, as they're pretty clear about this on their web site.Shorter version, not happy with the purchase and would not recommend this seller. BGE sells through local retailers all over the country, so you're better off ordering through one of them. I'll either replace this at my local hardware store or order a different brand of charcoal igniter on Amazon that will have a manufacturer's warranty.

works as advertised , the cool air mode is also very useful and the angled design is an improvement over other brands

I use all mesquite in my egg, have been messing with using 2 weber chimneys to get coals hot.I hate propane grills, but starting the fire for mesquite has always been a drag. Even with thechimneys (needed 2 because mesquite chunks don't pack efficiently). The electric starter is completelyamazing in 3 minutes of just holding the device I have a reliable start, and 15-20 min later I have apile of mesquite ready to go.

Once you lock down how to use this to its capacity it is a fast easy tool to add to your Eggsesories.
