Mobiltemp SHC 32 versus Polyrex EM 115
This product is to replace much stiffer Mobil Polyrex EM 115 blue grease. The clay stiffener of NGLI 1.5 is somewhat compatible with much stiffer Polyrex NGLI 2. The SHC32 has similar 350°F operating temp as NGLI 2 but much less cold start/running torque and oil viscosity under the same heat. Polyrex EM was stated to reduce bearing noise yet the ball cage would often be heard groaning or snapping, etc.. That can not be said of lower viscosity SHC32 and reduced 75mm bore bearing start/run heat by nearly 300 watts. Recommended to clean as much Polyrex EM from bearings prior to mixing by flushing remaining with solvent or pumping new SHC32 until purple grease turns bright red. Regular grease check and maintenance intervals are recommended with SHC32 as it may seep around light seals etc...
