Vostok| Amphibia 120811 Automatic Self-Winding Diver Wrist Watch

Vostoks are excellent, affordable, and dependable automatic watches. Their designs are typical Russian stoic minimalism. If you’re looking for a simple automatic watch with no frills, this is it.

This Vostok is my favorite. The ribbed silicone band is extemely comfortable on the wrist and floats atop it due to the ribs.The movement is all in-house and is an impressive feat; however if the watch is not fully wound or one stays sedentary long enough the accuracy can range anywhere between +/- 30-240 seconds per day. Keeping the watch wound helps improve the accuracy of the watch.There is no day or date complication on this watch, but I prefer the cleaner aesthetic as a result.This watch is very shock-resistant; and is an automatic (self-winding) watch, and is water-resistant to 200m/660ft. It has 31 jewels. The case and bezel are stainless steel. The crystal is antique glass (specially treated acrylic) and is 3mm thick; also any scratches can easily be buffed with non-abrasive toothpaste and a cotton cloth. The power reserve is 31h.Overall, excellent quality for the low cost of this watchUPDATE:Watch broke after less than 6mos. Of little wear and tearYou can hear some component moving inside, perhaps the rotor or something jigglong around that should clearly not be tyopical.I'll never buy another vostok ever.

My favorite Vostok ... so far. Keeps time as precisely as many "high end" automatics out there. Matches nicely with the blue NATO style strap. Firm screw-down crown functions flawlessly. I'll be swimming back.

The second hand stopped moving and it stopped keeping time. I tried winding but it could not revive the watch. returning it.

Beautiful watch, loved the second hand motion, NATO band. Unfortunately, stopped working after about 10 days of wear, would stop ticking randomly despite winding. Sadly, had to return it.

Great fun watch. keeps good time, looks cool, it's the AK47 of watches LOL.

The watch looks nice and feels sturdy, but it is consistently off by four or five minutes per day. I have another Vostok that I bought used over 30 years ago, that has never been serviced, and still keeps perfect time. Unfortunately, the quality of my new watch is not the same.I have had the watch for just over two months, it has never been wet, and it has only seen light wear. I looks like it did when I took it out of the box, but it just does not keep accurate time.Update: The watch stopped working after being dropped from my wrist. There was no damage, scratches or dents, but the watch just quit working. My old Vostok is probably 50 years old, used when I bought it 35 years ago and never even serviced, and still keeps perfect time after decades of hard use. The new watch looks great, but is very fragile and inaccurate. I bought the warranty, but parts for repair are not available, so I'll get a refund and look for a new watch.
