Ampersand Art Supply Wood Gesso Artist Painting Panel: Primed Smooth, 8" x 10", 1/8" Flat Profile

I've used Ampersand for years. Their product has a fabulous smooth surface that is very nice to paint on especially if you like detail. The ready to use surface allows oil paint (what I use) to be laid down andmove very nicely. The cradled. boards are finished with very high quality and you can leave the wood u untouched or paint it to suit your needs. The convenience of finding them on Amazon is good too when I am not ordering a bunch of art supplies from another source.

The media could not be loaded. I love Ampersand Panels. They’re the best in the world. I highly recommend them. Just make sure that when you order them, you put a note or something so they make sure they put it in a box and some type of bubble wrap. Because they keep sending them to me in a brown paper bag package and they show up damaged as you see in the video above outside of that. The panels are fantastic, especially the Ampersand Gessobord.

I have been buying them since they came out with them.

I have used these panels before and like them for acrylic painting, but I was disappointed thatone end was dented and some of the white ground on which you could paint was coming off on one side. I still the panel but had to double-gesso the part with the missing surface paint. I think the panel should have been rejected as defective before they sent it to me.

Love the smooth surface. I order regularly and had zero issues.

These are my favorite painting boards for acrylic painting. I always add another coat or two of gesso to them before I begin my painting to add a little more tooth to the surface. The surface as they come out of their wrapping with is very smooth and too slippery for my liking so I add the gesso to make a little rougher surface to grab my paint. They are thin but sturdy and are easy to put into a frame with framing points and are much better to transport than a stretched canvas because you don't have to worry about something poking a hole in your painting.

Canvas was received, packaged well and good value for a art student. Other canvas are very costly but this product fits her needs.

I bought 10 boards. First of all, when i opened the package, 3 of them were completely damaged (corners damaged, and even damages on the primed white surface). Also they came bended, not completely flat as they should. Since they are “flat” i had to glue some wood sticks on the back to give the board something to be hanged from; but the glue when cured, bended the surface even more, which obviously means that the surface is not strong and firm; its weak and bendable. Last but not least, i poured epoxy over them, but since the boards where uneven, bended and imperfect, i had to deal with a LOT o issues and the resin not curing perfect due to the imperfections on the edges of the boards and on the boards themselves. They are, BY FAR, the WORST BOARDS i have EVER bought, and will never buy them again nor recommend the product to anybody. If you are smart and are reading this review, DO NOT BUY THIS BOARDS. They are pure rubbish.
