A fantastic naginata!
First class item. Finally sharpened edge. Great naginata for the cost. Absolutely recommended and thank you very much. Nicely done.

Heavy
This is a bit heavier than the original naginata, so training with it is a bit difficult at first. I do like the other modifications to make it easier to grip.At six foot three, this is a bit short. It does add nicely to my collection of edged weapons.

Awesome
This is the 14th weapon I have bought from Honshu I have been thrilled with every single one. I have been looking for a nice quality naginata for several years and I could not be happier with this it is everything I could have hoped for and more beautifully designed razor-sharp although I expected nothing less from Honshu

Real Deal
This is an excellent training tool. Granted it is not for the feint of heart and it is solidly built and rather heavy. I use it for Krabi Krabong training as a "Ngow" and it is challenging. Worth the cost.

Two big issues and its an easy fix from the manufacturer.
The media could not be loaded. The size of this Naginata is a foot shorter than it's supposed to be.This could be alleviated by the manufacture by taking out the blade and having the customer attach the blade themselves. Now they can use the free foot-long length to add more shaft. The shaft is also circular rather than shaped like an oval, so its hard to find the edge alignment. You really have to aim your cuts with this thing. The weight isn't so bad, but it is not at all accurate. The injection mold shaft is super light while the stainless steel blade is very heavy, making it feel clunky rather than playful in the hands. You're not going to practice accurately with this thing. The futuristic look is also a bit of a pain. The swell grip at the end of the grip gets in the way of sliding your hand for more guided cuts. This makes the small shaft all so much more noticeableIt comes sharp oddly well. Better than their katana. Also unlike their Katana: there is no rattle at all in the handle. And the stainless steel is actually pretty good. No idea what kind of stainless steel it is, but it works. But it has developed a streak one one side, ironically staining, because of a root-beer bottle cut.Overall I am disappointed in the general market for not. Being able to supply a more accurate naginata. This is so close, but the side and shape of the shaft is too small and awkward to even superficially feel like a naginata.

Impressed?
I honestly wasn't expecting much for a plastic and stainless steel naginata for under a few hundred dollars. I haven't tried any blocking, striking or cutting with it, and because of it's stainless steel blade, and plastic handle, I'm still not expecting too much from it. However my first impression with this is way better than I was expecting. The handle is very sturdy feeling, not flexible or bendy. It feels light, yet very rigid. It feels like it can actually take some abuse. I've heard that stainless steel is brittle and a horrible steel for anything over a foot long. I would never buy a stainless steel sword for any use other than as a wall hanger. That being said, i don't know anything at all about 7cr13 stainless, but most non stainless naginata cost hundreds of dollars, so I figured I would check this out. The handle feels way better than expected, and the blade is nice and thick and wide, and feels really tough and durable. I am definately going to try some serious cutting soon. All in all I'm very impressed so far. I wish I had done some cutting, so I can speak about it's durability. Based on looks and feel I would give it 5 stars, but I bought it as a functional weapon, and not knowing about the type of steel or the strength of the handle prevents me from giving it 5 stars. If you want something that looks and feels great I would give it 5 stars right out of the box.
